For the record he was convicted of one count of fourth degree rape which does not have a mandatory jail sentence. Originally he was charged with two counts of second degree rape and plea bargained for one count of fourth degree rape. I imagine the prosecution was looking at the money going into the defense and how ugly the trial would be and made the deal (no idea, I'm not a lawyer).

Still, the prosecution recommended probation when the max for his sentence was 15 years.. and the judge went along with the recommendation..

Which is sad and an insult to the victim. There should be no such thing as pleading to a lesser offense for rape and molestation of children!

I, for one, am relieved.

Although your use of the present tense in that sentence does make me wonder.

Wonder as in you are envious and would like me to .......... you?

What happens when we start putting the job creator class in prison?

You no longer have anyone to work for and take to a life of crime and narcotics.

We have VP's and Co-Chairs and Co CEOs. The companies can go on without them. More than likely they are not contributing anyway they are too busy raping children.

I will say that black issues were not mentioned very much before Marvin or Janelle were here. Not that they bring it up all the time, but rather that since they are willing to talk about it, others are more willing to bring it up.

It's every damn thread. No matter what the subject. Who even wants to participate anymore? It's the same conversation. They bring it up or someone else does.

This is a terrible, heartbreaking story and four posts in, it's a racial debate. Madness.

Ok. Let's pretend that most of the Current Events section isn't about bashing black people, gays and Muslims. I like playing pretend.

Anyway, I think that this judge is a freaking joke. How is it the U.S. can constantly preach about what is right and how other countries should behave while barbaric acts like this go unpunished?

WE ARE A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This I agree on. He had to take a nice chunk of change in an overseas account to do these poor children such an injustice. This is just disgusting and a disgrace to the victim and the so called great nation we live in.

And it could also be said that this forum is about denying current issues and blaming every problem and failure of any black person in the world on Racism. Maybe perception is the issue and both sides are wrong

Just for the record I have never painted gays in a negative light

This country may have issues and our freedoms may be slipping away. I admit the totalitarian state has grown exponentially under Clinton, Bush and Obama. Odd Obama has been to the third power in intensity in everything he preached against Bush on. There is no way you can condemn Bush and support Obama on civil liberties and vice -verse and be taken seriously.

What was revolting, was the judge said" He would not fare well in prison". SOOOOOOOOO.. Does she factor that in poor peoples sentences? I hear no child molester does well in prison.

You can't blame me, cause I ain't been here much. My intent was to show the disgusting way in which the rich and powerful are above the law. Just how many times have Paris H and Lindsey L been busted for drugs. If either had been some poor inner city kid caught drunk driving and with cocaine repeatedly they would have gotten years in jail.

I never said you ever painted gays in a negative light.

The rest I just don't feel like commenting on. You can never shed light on a person mentally locked in a dark room with no windows and cracks.

Here's your hangup. Myself and quite a few others have pointed out the institutionalized racism minorities have to deal with. Yet, this part gets omitted. We hear how it's black culture. Ok, here's a question? Back in the 1970's poverty within the black community was 33.6%, in the white community 10%. As of 2012, it's 35% and 13% respectfully. Rap music and all this other ####### wasn't even around back then, yet poverty still remains high with our community. And here's another thing, Hispanics are sitting at 33% right now, back then it was 24.3%. Is this black culture's fault too? Or is it the Hispanics culture? Back then 20% of black women were having kids out of wedlock. And black single mothers carry a nasty stigma to this day. On the other side of the coin, white women, who are sitting at 30% of having kids out of wedlock and use government assistance. Yet you'll always hear about Shaniqua getting her nails done with her welfare check, instead of Becky with 4 kids and no father to take care of them. Maybe we should stop looking at minorities and start looking at American Culture.

We talk about foreigners who come here and excel, why can't black people do the same thing? Do the math. We've been here for 400 years, give or take. Out of that, 250 was spent in chains, 150 was spent dealing with racism that was actually the law, and the last 50, we've been trying to make up for lost ground. Black people are the most hated folks in this country. Period. We've been taught to hate ourselves to the point where we're killing our own people. You hear about black people hating their own skin color. Women coloring their hair to look more white. Blue contacts lenses, ashamed of their own figures, trying to act a certain way so they can fit in. Can't even name your child an ethnic name, it will hurt them in the long run, no matter how that act. There are so many articles that talk about the double standard, how they have to have 2 degrees and tons of experience, where a white person can have a diploma and still get the job, with higher pay.

If you work hard, you can succeed. Many try to believe this. And some make it, but to say that institutionalized racism doesn't exist? No way.

Of course you would read that out of all I typed. Blacks have fared poorly under EVERYONE. Not just Obama.
