No one here has ever said that. In debates, when it has been asserted that the black culture begets crime no worse than others, we have pointed out that blacks, specifically young black males, commit crime at a vastly disproportionate rate to other races, respective of their percent of the population.

What universe you've been living in? Almost any thread has delved into black community issues. I've seen many shootings here that had no black people in it, zilch, zero, nada, nein. And, like clockwork, someone strolls in with the "let's take a trip to Chicago, Baltimore, DC, Oakland". It's not black culture. Since myself and Janelle aren't like that, are we not black?

And what's funny is, no one (cept Spooky) calls out those people who only post black negative links or even make it about race when it's a white person. But myself or Janelle? We get called out the second we say something.

I asked that question also. You an d Janelle made this thread about race not any of us. My point in the OP, was about wealth and privilege, and how the judge let this rich guy off. The same way OJ got off because he was rich and famous, not because he was black

I will say that black issues were not mentioned very much before Marvin or Janelle were here. Not that they bring it up all the time, but rather that since they are willing to talk about it, others are more willing to bring it up.

No matter how many times they do it, no matter how many times they call our entire race into question, no matter how many times they turn 95% of the conversation into a whipping post for black people, we can't bring it up. To say we do not have a safe place for a sex offender today is just ignorance. Open a prison just for sex offenders. This would provide for their general well being.

We white folks will not today blame his environment for his actions. His parents might have put him in boarding schools all his life and maybe shipped him off to summer camp. Just to get him "out of the way" He also might of had nanny's that disrupted his idea if right from wrong.

Perhaps if he had to enter society in a normal manner things would be different. ... Parents that cared for him,Perhaps if he had to get up in the morning go to a regular job. Interact with his co-workers.. worry about what normal people worry about things would be different.. At least his sentence. would be. different. But today we will blame ... just the man who for all rights should be doing 20 and more than that .. Also blame the judge for not doing her duty.

For the record he was convicted of one count of fourth degree rape which does not have a mandatory jail sentence. Originally he was charged with two counts of second degree rape and plea bargained for one count of fourth degree rape. I imagine the prosecution was looking at the money going into the defense and how ugly the trial would be and made the deal (no idea, I'm not a lawyer).

Still, the prosecution recommended probation when the max for his sentence was 15 years.. and the judge went along with the recommendation..

Again, excuses. His mother had a history of mental illness. There are children who have mothers on drugs but don't molest their children.

My father had cancer and starting dying when I was 10 and died when I was 15. Can you image what that was like as a small child to watcher someone you love at a young age deteriorate year after year. Freaking devastating!!! Seeing someone turn yellow, huge bumps all over their body, no hair and I do mean NO HAIR, not even eyebrows!!!
