It takes a month after receiving (aka scanning the file into their system) to get gas numbers intitally. Of course it takes a month to change them. Makes sense to me. Maybe it could be done faster (but rarely is) and you could request a supervisor review if you want if this is their mistake (like in the case of the Russia and the Ukraine one.)

Tico - the petitioner does not need to supply the NVC with their divorce decrees. Only the beneficiary does. A photocopy of yours was included with the I-130.

Unless this is something special with your waiver but I doubt it.

Thank you !! that is what I thought. This paralegal INSISTS she knows what to put in the package. I am on hold with NVC right now. I already sent the divorce papers overnight fedex. She will get them by 10:30 am today but I will be calling their office when I am done with NVC in a few minutes. The waiver is filed AFTER the interview and processed at the NSC. That proessing time is 6-8 months... That is why I am in a big hurry to get this NVC stage complete.

I worry about this also. I am paying my fees and pushing my attorney hard as she is almost glacial in her movements. She keeps saying "wait for the NVC to contact us to tell us what we need to do, each case is different" which seems a bit storage to me. However she is a very highly regarded lawyer so.....?????

I am going to call the NVC today to find out if they will e-mail me at the same time as the attorney, I'm sure they know what an email cc is!

Per a very good lawyer friend of mine; Lawyers will attempt to do everything in writing. That leaves a paper trail that can be followed up. So if they're moving slowly and waiting for the government to send them instructions, it's so that they can prove that the proper steps were taken with that paper trail.

Got IV invoice email last night and IV fee is now payable on CEAC! Yay!

Is it me or are things moving faster at NVC? Our case # was assigned on the Apr 03. I wasnt expect to be able to pay IV and submit the DS-260 for at least 2 weeks after we received case #.

Edit: Also, to find out if DS-261is accepted, do we have to call NVC or is the email we received last night proof of it? Email states that my husband has been chosen as agent for me.

Obsessed with checking CEAC and on the verge of manic! Reading your posts on here, the best thing about your lawyer so far is that you skipped the DS-261 and got both fees invoiced at the same time.. now keep poking at them to send the packages!

And.. realised I was asking a question that I would probably find the answer to on the NVC wiki and yes i did! DS-261 is accepted and then IV fee invoiced.

To be honest this is what my lawyer said, she wanted to make sure I got it in writing. However I spoke to the NVC again today and they simply said that they would change it when thy processed my change of address email and that i could use the HNK number they gave me no problem. Her tone was very "of course you can, whats your worry". I just do not want to wait 30 days for them to change my address and LND number!

Still, no case # for me yet!!! today is 22 business days after NVC received I-130!!!!!!!

Ugh, I'm tired of hearing that its going to take 30business days to review the DS260. This entire process is really annoying and irritating!!! My husband and I have given up hope. It seems like through this entire process the lovely NVC has delayed every step, and there has been no checklists at all to this day... Today is the 11th business day!!!!

I doubt he'll be here before June 12, which is when my due date is...

I just mailed out the AOS and IV packages (in the same shipping flyer). Now I'm obsessively checking DHL's package tracker.

The NVC is going so fast! I got the IV invoice 5 days after the AOS invoice, and the DS-260 was available one day after I paid.

I just found out our case is complete, woo hoo!!

May I ask how long it took from your case going from USCIS to NVC to your case being completed was?

I called NVC many times and they told me to send in the AOS and IV procedures before my case number changed. I have not sent in my IV package but have the cover sheet with the old case number. I was told it is fine to send it in and they can see in their records that my case number was changed. I changed my case number because my husband moved countries.

Although since yours was a complete wrong case number it might be different. They might just shut down the case number since it was wrong. I would suggest calling NVC and talking to at least 5 different people which I think Saylin mentioned before, just to be pretty sure of how you should proceed

I have paid AOS fees and it shows pending (I think transaction is in process).

Should I wait for it to completed or I can send the packet of AOS.?

Cover page with bar code is available as soon as I paid the fees

You can send it in prior to PAID status; they are not going to scan in the package or even look at it for a while. Just make sure the money has cleared your account this will happen the very next business day. This is to make sure there weren't any errors with the payment transaction.
