OK MY IV FEE ALSO SAYS PAID NOW DO I FILL DS 260 AND WAIT FOR IT TO BE APPROVED AND THEN SUBMIT CIVIL DOCUMENTS OR JUST GO AHEAD AND SUBMIT THEM TODAY??

If DS-260 is available fill it in right now. Remember there are several pages. So it will take a while. For me I had save it several times and come back to fill it in later. I also had to gather several pieces of info from my wife in filling this form - like the name and address of her grade schools, years attended, name/address of college, years attended, companies she worked in - names/addresses/tel #, name of supervisor, dates (from, to) and a few other things. So it took me several phone calls, emails, WhatsApp etc.

Meanwhile, if the IV package of documents are ready Express Mail it now. Do not forget to attach the Bar Coded Sheet on the top.

Hope that helps.

For those using attorneys:

I was assigned my case number on March 28, and found out the case number/IIN on March 31st when I happened to call NVC. I am using an attorney, so I was very pleased when my yellow triangles appeared as of April 2nd. I was mildly irritated when, on April 6th, the invoices had not yet been paid by the attorney - so I paid them to get the process on the way.

On April 7th (Monday), I sent copies of the receipts to my attorney's office. On Tuesday, one of the attorneys in the office wrote to me, telling me she was working on my case, but she couldn't do anything without the IIN. When and how does the NVC notify the attorney on record of the Case number and IIN? I thought the attorney got an email from NVC when the case number was assigned!?

Anyway, the money has been deducted from my account, and my signed I-864 is ready to be shipped tomorrow, and the attorney is preparing the DS-260 now - so we are on track (as long as the stupid web site stays up). But I am VERY confused that NVC has not contacted my attorney's office! And I have received NO emails, nor any instructions since giving NVC my email address. Is something screwy here, or am I clueless as to the process? (Highly likely!!!!)

Sukie

I worry about this also. I am paying my fees and pushing my attorney hard as she is almost glacial in her movements. She keeps saying "wait for the NVC to contact us to tell us what we need to do, each case is different" which seems a bit storage to me. However she is a very highly regarded lawyer so.....?????

I am going to call the NVC today to find out if they will e-mail me at the same time as the attorney, I'm sure they know what an email cc is!

I call NVC everyday to see if they received my approved petition but so far nothing. I just want to check if im doing it right. I just check with whoever answers and they tell me its not in system yet. Is that pretty much it?

It's about time for you for NVC to have received your case officially. However, there is no point calling them everyday (and stressing over it). I would say, call maybe twice a week to enquire whether they received it and when. After the receipt date they will take another 3 to 4 weeks to assign Case # and IIN. So after receiving the receipt date wait for at least 2 weeks, and then call a little more often (maybe every other day). For me the late night 10 ~12 pm Eastern worked best.

Hello, I filed my 2013 taxes as single and now realize I should have filed as married. I want to amend them and file as married filing separately.

1) For Married Filing Separately, I don't need an ITIN number right?

2) I can just attach the amended return on top of the old one right?

3) Will this delay my wife's immigration process, just found out NVC received our case 5 days ago.

4) Any reason to not file as Married Filing Separately since my wife lives in Peru currently and I am not concerned with tax benefits at this point.

Just talked to Yvette...she informed me that they are still scheduling May interviews and that there is no set cutoff date for the interviews, but it depends on each embassy and their capacity. Sooo while we have no update on our case today, I am at least pleased to know that if the embassy is less busy than others, we could fit in for an interview in May.

I am the petitioner (USC). My husband is Senegalese.

AOS and IV fees are invoiced at the same time for people using a lawyer. If you sent your package overnight NVC will receive it today, but they won't scan it in for a few more days. Check back Friday to see if they've registered it as received :)

Ahh... Now it makes sense as to why both are available. Thanks!

When you signed in they let you pay both the AOS Fee and IV fee? Because when I signed in they only let me pay the AOS fee. Just wondering if it is different for everyone. :)

Yea i signed in and both were available. I paid them both and are processing right now, my DS 260 wasnt there tho. Next tuesday im sending both aos and iv package

Just out of interest, I got the email with the invoice, however it says

"Before you begin, make sure you have a personal check from a U.S. bank account available. We will ask you to enter some information from the check later"

How come it asks for a cheque? Surely i pay with a visa no?

Also, did anyone get an email with an attachment with any instructions on what to send with the AOS and IV? Apparenlty i get this after the DS260?

Quick question while skyp'ing with hubby doing his and the joint sponsor's AOS forms:

-joint sponsor's transcript is called an 'account transcript', whereas my husband's is a tax return transcript. So her form doesn't list 'Total Income' as such, it has 'taxable income' and adjusted gross income (which I know we don't want to use as it wasn't a 1040 EZ).

Does she have to order the proper form again? Or will this account transcript suffice? If it's ok, do we use taxable income?

ugh, lol
