Ummm.. why in the world is she telling you that you need your divorce decree?! That was supposed to be included with your I-130 not your husband's IV package. All of the paperwork pertains to him and nothing to you. If your husband is divorced, then he will need his divorce decree. Not your own.

It will be a good idea for him to have a certified copy of your divorce decree with him at his interview, but it does not have to be included in the IV package.

I sucked it up and ran to the court house and got it. Just took an early lunch. Court house is only 24 minutes away....The whole process only took 6 minutes including when I paid for it. It took me longer to park and put all my nickels and dimes in the kiosk. LOL LOL The way my luck is going..... they would send a checklist. I am not willing to take a chance.

Its my divorce decree that she wants to send. He was never married. I did send a copy of it in the USCIS package.. But I was divorced way back in 2005 and I don't have the original. I don't even remember where I came up with the copy and my second divorce decree and translation was included in the package too. I do have those originals. I guess they will both get shoved in an express mail envelope and mailed out this afternoon . She said she would work on my file and get back to me this afternoon. Its amazing what little $3300.00 gets you these days !!!! and we still have another $2000. to pay when the interview is scheduled. PLUS we pay all fees . WHAT A FRIGGIN RIP !!!

First of all, my wife got her PCC from RPO -Kolkata (last month) w/o needing to change her passport. However, she did apply for the PCC as Married and did show her marriage certificate. I asked her to get 2 copies of the PCC. Once she sent me (petitioner) which I included with the IV package. The other she is keeping to be carried to the interview.

However, later I found out from NVC Filers - March 2014 thread, that for India (and maybe Pakistan, too) NVC is not insisting on the original PCC. A copy of the PCC is fine to be sent in to NVC as long as the original is shown at the time of interview.

For New Delhi consulate Original PCC is required by NVC,

For Mumbai copy is accepted by NVC.

I am so worried about our interview in regards to the taxes. There seems to not be a clear answer as people keep telling me different. I attempted to file the taxes and get an ITIN for my husband, but the IRS wouldn't certify his passport. She filed anyways and she said it will be denied. So I have a copy with the IRS stamp showing filed, but it won't be processed she said. They will deny his ITIN since my husband was not present when I filed them. I also sent in an extension and I made a copy of that with the certified mail label. But our taxes won't be done by his interview and I sent the AOS packet with 2012 being current. I am sending my husband the request for extension, a copy showing we attempted to file, and my W2. People are saying that is not enough that they will want a current transcript for 2013 which I won't have.

Hi Saylin,

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong thread, but needed your help. My spouse has her interview on April 11th with POE expected around April 18th. We would like to go to Mexico May 3rd and 4th. I don't think she will get her green card by then. Can she travel with the Visa that's stamped on her passport? What kind of Visa is that? Is that just for POE? Or can she use it to enter Mexico?

She can use the I-551 stamp (which she gets at POE) in her passport to travel in and out of the US. The I-551 is basically a temporary green card valid for a year. She can use that as proof of perminant residency till she has actually has her green card.

Have you contact the IRS about the processing.. MFS would have been easier route to go down .

W2's alone aren't enough. You would also need the paystubs, and 1040 form from the tax return if you don't have the transcript.

Finally got my case number changed!! Plz send me ur PCC soon hubbie!! lol :goofy:

Hi, I have same problem as you, NVC gave me incorrect case #, so I sent e-mail requesting to change it.

But I see that you proceed with filing AOS and paying fees, did you use wrong case number or what. I just don't know what to do, wait for new case number, the rep told me to wait, but knowing that they all have different answers I don't know what is better, but I definitely don't want to wait for 41 days.:o
