Hello,

I just recently, after 329 days at uscis, had my i130 for my husband approved. Now, I feel like it's another waiting game at NVC! Did anyone get approved on March 26,2014 and had their case transferred to NVC yet?

Today My Wife(Petitioner) and my father in law(Sponsor, who is currently lives in US) decided to Pre-fill the Form I864 by my wife and form I864A by father in law for household sponsorship. Currently she (petitioner) is living me in India (almost 1 year done). So when submitting AOS do we need to submit US domicile to NVC, if yes what type of documents need to submit for US domicile.

And does NVC accept AOS scanned copy's as she is lives in India currently, so it's little difficult to send them by mail every time to US. (fill the form in system and print it then sign it and then scan and send)?

Please advise.

Hi..as per your signature, your aos package was touched on march 25th.how did you get that information? Did you call them?

That is correct. Last week I was able to reach someone at NVC and found out they have started processing my AOS package. Haven't been able to talk to anyone @NVC since then to get any updates. Hoping to call them tomorrow and find out if AOS has been approved. Keeping our fingers crossed for no checklist (real or fake) for AOS.

Actually, your wife - I-864, and father-in-law (main joint sponsor) - I-864.

It shows my AOS fee and IV fee, should i pay them now?

Absolutely, pay them now. Do not wait for their email. Just log into the CEAC website using the Case # and IIN and pay. Once the money has been withdrawn from your account EXPRESS mail the two packages, immediately. Do not wait for the website to show PAID. By the time your packages arrive, the status of the payments will change to PAID.

What's your prediction for a case complete for my husband based on my signature timeline?

If I have to guess it would be sometime next week. Assuming no major hiccups (checklists). Good luck.

Hello VJ Members,

My wife's case is currently at NVC. 2 weeks ago I sent them the IV package and had submitted the DS-260 as well. Got a checklist today in the email concerning the IV package and this is what is says:

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

______5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:_______

The two respective documents I had submitted were copies and it had attestation stamps on them. They were the ones that I had initially sent with the I-130 when I filed the petition with USCIS. If they approved the case with the same copies, then why is NVC sending me this checklist?

Are they asking for originals or are they asking for copies with some sort of government stamp on them? I'm not sure if they're certified. If not certified, then how do I "certify" them? I'm confused and would like some help with this. I tried calling the NVC but the number is either busy and/or I can't reach a customer service rep. Thanks.

NVC requires original Birth Cert and Original Marriage Cert. The consulate will give them back at the time of the interview.

Here is latest update about my case.

NVC sent back approved case to USCIS and

USCIS got my case today and changed my case status to initial review again.

No idea how long it will take them to make a decision again about my case.

Sent my IV package docs couple of weeks back, its scanned in to the system but hasn't been approved yet, do you guys have any idea about the current time duration NVC is taking to approve the AOS and IV packages?

Woke up this morning to find that the fees came out of my account. I checked before I went to sleep, no action but this morning they came out. Today, my mission is to haunt my lawyer for him to send out the packages. The tracking USPS confirmed delivery of our docs to his office yesterday. Its time for him to earn the money he's been paid !!!!

It still shows IN PROCESS online but of course I'll be stalking the CEAC page today.... I want to be done with this !!!

we received cover letter check list, we already paid AOS and send over, is this false check list?

Most likely this is a false check list, because they did not ask you for anything specific.

The police clearance certificate is officially delaying our case now. We actually applied back in December and the first certificate came back with a spelling error in the address. We tried to go get it fixed. It's one letter that needs to be changed! They made us re-apply and go through the entire process again! We re-submitted the application in late February and we're still waiting. I'm tempted to send in the first certificate and explain the situation. Wonder if they would allow us to bring the new one to the interview.

In the website it states that issuing police certs will take upto 14 days, why did it take them so long to issue it.

Call them and ask whats going on othervise they will take longer to issue it.

Calling NVC right now to check for a case #!

I'm on the 5th week after they received my I-130, so hopefully we'll have it today!!!!
