Yes, don't worry, your documents will get there :) Just allow for that lag time between NVC physically receiving and NVC scanning things in. I don't know if your lawyer doesn't know what he's doing or is just careless, but either way, you have every right to be upset with him. It cost me $5.60 to send my documents via Priority Mail, which I think has 2 day delivery. Since I'm in MA and NVC is very close to me, my documents arrived next day. That amount in postage is a pittance for the peace of mind that comes with a tracking number. And adding the tracking or delivery confirmation option to regular USPS mail isn't expensive either! Your lawyer is definitely not putting any extra effort into this for you... or even the baseline level of effort I would expect for a $4,000 fee.

Greetings to all from Bangkok!

I am sending u this message to update with our conversation regarding our AOS and civil docs. I called NVC today 30 mins ago, and Jean (the NVC operator) said that they have already received our AOS form except our civil docs. I sent our lawyer an email and he said he sent them separately. So worried again abt our civil docs but i hope it is there in the mail room. Thanks so much to everyone who helped me re this matter.

Thanks a lot to all VJ family and best of luck to us!

My husband doesn't want to do the extension because he said there are criterias for that. But I don't know about it. Instead he filed his tax as MFS and put NRA on my SSN and send it via mail. It will be processed within 4-6 weeks.

oh ok I see, thanks for the info. God bless :)

Anyone have an 800 number for NVC? Thanks!

The only number for NVC that I see is 603-334-0700. I don't think there is a toll free number for NVC...... I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong! :-)

update: called NVC at 10am central standard time, was on hold for 25mins, Rep named Rose picked, I asked her if my Immigration Visa form has been reviewed yet, she stated that they are waiting on me to complete the DS 260 (IV application), I stated that it was completed on March 25, 2014. Thanks so much for the reply guys. Have a couple of more questions about DS 260:

1. When i enter my current employment and go to next page, it asks for previous employment for 10 years (STARTING FROM MOST RECENT ONE), so should i enter my current again and then earlier ones?

2. Regarding my earlier employments, a couple of companies have been acquired by new company so my company no longer exists, so which company name should i give here?

3. One of the company has changed its location so that means address and phone numbers has changed, so which address i should refer to (as old address where i worked no longer valid)?

To answer #1, it's the word 'previous' that leads me to say you do not re-enter your current one, only previous ones.

thanks for your response Changnoi. we already sent our AOS packet and we even had a minor mistake with it but we don't have any problem with the financial part of the form and we sent the checklist march 20 so I guess they already accepted our AOS packet. anyways so if my husband is going to file MFS how long will it take for the transcript to be available?. see we're just waiting for our case complete this week or next week and hoping for last week of May interview or early June. will it be already available by that time??? and lastly will it end up having my husband owing a lot for his taxes compare to him filing single??? sorry for having a lot of questions and so thankful for your response. God bless :)

copied from a post by Sukie:

IRS Tax Transcript Frequently Asked Questions

Recent guidance from the Department of Education and the IRS suggests that

if you file your 2013 taxes electronically and have any owed taxes paid in

full at the time of submission or are due a refund - IRS Tax Return

Transcripts will be available generally 2 - 4 weeks after your return has

been processed.

If you filed electronically, but do not pay in full any taxes due - your tax

return will not be processed until May 2014 and may request your IRS Tax

Return Transcript 2 - 3 weeks after that point.

Those that file a paper return will unfortunately need to wait even longer

to make the request for their tax return transcript. If you expect a refund

or owe no additional taxes, you can request your transcript 8 - 11 weeks

after your tax return has been submitted and received. If you owe any

amount, even if it is paid in full at the time your return is submitted,

your tax return will not be processed until June 2014 and you will not be

able to request your transcript until 2 - 3 weeks after that point.

really so you did file separate. did you try to call ssa to ask if you're eligible for ss#? my husband called IRS and advised him to have me call social security and personally ask if im eligible for one. anyways so if ever we wont have our transcript in time for interview if ever, do you think the consulate will not accept an extension letter and W2?by the way thank you for your response?? :) can I just ask too what are the documents that is needed for an ITIN?

You wouldn't be eligible for an SSN until you immigrate.

It's strange to me that you've been asked numerous times whether you've completed the DS-260 and now someone is telling you they're waiting for it. When you log into CEAC, it does show as completed under the DS-260 section, right? They haven't been taking the 30 days to review things, it's more like 2 weeks lately. I got a few agents last week who didn't have a clue. One even told me that my Case number was invalid. My guess is that they're training new people. I'm right there with you, theluckygirl, we filled out the DS260 on March 26th, and are waiting for review. I'm calling later, so I'll let you know what they say.
