May be they got tired of people calling! LOL I'm one of the abusers, I call at least 3 times a day

lol, now I'm picturing a room full of people staring sadly at phones ringing off the hook  Up and at 'em, NVC! Don't make me come up there!

Folks, just a friendly reminder: please READ stuff (NVC Process wiki, EP wiki [if doing EP], official form instructions, USCIS/NVC websites).

Although I'm not answering questions anymore, I'm still reading all the posts in my inbox and I've seen quite a few questions that can be answered if you simply read what's available.

And if for whatever reason, you can't find the answer, try searching both on this website and on Google. It's amazing what you could find if you search ;)

And if you're wondering about time frames, I've got a spreadsheet available for a reason ;) And if you're trying to look at a time tick not on it (such as bills being invoiced), look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=&op3=5&op5=&op6=All Use it! I sure did during my process :)

^ Another reminder... Seems like I have to do one every few days as people still aren't reading (or even using common sense).

thanks for your response Changnoi. we already sent our AOS packet and we even had a minor mistake with it but we don't have any problem with the financial part of the form and we sent the checklist march 20 so I guess they already accepted our AOS packet. anyways so if my husband is going to file MFS how long will it take for the transcript to be available?. see we're just waiting for our case complete this week or next week and hoping for last week of May interview or early June. will it be already available by that time??? and lastly will it end up having my husband owing a lot for his taxes compare to him filing single??? sorry for having a lot of questions and so thankful for your response. God bless :)

The moment you get your refund or payment is processed the transcript should be available online to print.

As Saylin says in her NVC guide :

"As the petitioner, what filing status do I use for my tax returns?

You have three options: married filing separately (MFS), married filing jointly (MFJ), or head of household (HOH).

For HOH, there's some criteria you need to meet to be able to use this. Please see the IRS website for more information.

For most people though, it's either between MFS or MFJ. Before I continue, I will say this once and only once:

YOU CANNOT FILE SINGLE. If you are married, you are married. Doesn't matter where in the universe your spouse is,

YOU ARE STILL MARRIED. You will be lying to the IRS if you file as single, and if caught, could cause serious issues.

If you have already filed taxes, either this year or last, and were married, yet filed as single, amend your tax return ASAP.

If at the time of the interview, there are tax return transcripts in the case file showing the petitioner filed as single, this can

be a HUGE red flag. The CO will have to wonder why the petitioner filed as single when they're trying to get a spousal visa.

In their eyes, your relationship can be seen as a fraud and could be reason for denial."

thanks again Changnoi. really don't have a plan to file single :) just wanting to compare how much would I get to file MFS, MFJ or single :) plus the requirements and the processing times. thanks for the help

Can't think why they would be, there's no holiday and spring has finally arrived in New England so there's no weather issue either. I just tried calling and it rang endlessly, perhaps they're having some phone troubles. Try, try again...

I tried and after a short hold was able to get through....amazingly they changed the "on hold" messaging to Rolling Stone's...(I can't get no)..."Satisfaction"

Is the extra set of data part of the DS260? I created this DS260 word doc based on a pdf of screenshots from January, and the screenshots our paralegal created for us, end of March.

On page no.5 of the doc, " does this chid live with you" if I Answered No, then,

Will it ask for address of Child residence?

Because on your doc the address of cold is not mentioned.

My cases have the same case number except the last digit ( obviously) The I-130 is 003 and the K-3 is 004 so they must have gotten them together. I don't mind doing the I-130 as long as it keeps moving fast... I am not in the mood to hang out at the NVC for 3 months.

11 months at USCIS was enough :clock:

I assume the reason both fees were issued at the same time is because I have an attorney and did not have to file the DS261?

I paid them on Saturday so hopefully when the bank opens I will see the funds coming out... it isn't processed like a POS/debit purchase ..correct? The funds would come out immediately, not put on hold .

Yes the fact that you have a lawyer makes both payments available at once and no ds261. The payment comes out almost immediately but it will take another day or so until it says paid on the potal. But as long as the $$$ is out of your account it's ok to send both packages. Just make sure you put the respective bar coded cover sheets with you packets. If you get those packets sent this week, you could potentially have a case complete in 2-3 weeks providing there's no checklists. If you got case complete by the end of April you will have a June interview. YAY!!! You are flying through this!!!!! So happy for you!!!! Nobody deserves it more than you!!! Keep on your lawyers butt!! Lol! ( I know you will! ) :)

There is an option you can check that says technology not available. Or you can use Word and go under the symbols part and type your name. Then just copy it into the form. That's what I did for my hubby's name. It works. I just didn't want to leave it blank. If you check the other box for technology not available I doubt if you will get a checklist for that or they wouldn't give you that option. Hope this helps. :)

I have never written my name in native language, all my certificates including birth certificate ate in English,

Can I just write there NOT APPLICABLE . In that box.

Happy anniversary :) The wait for a case number was one of the hardest parts for us... we were so worn out by then and it just seemed like the process would never end. It honestly does get better once the number is assigned, things start rolling much more quickly. Find some people on the NVC spreadsheet just ahead of you to keep an eye on, hopefully you'll have a number next week!

My husband doesn't want to do the extension because he said there are criterias for that. But I don't know about it. Instead he filed his tax as MFS and put NRA on my SSN and send it via mail. It will be processed within 4-6 weeks.
