$5.05

Hello. I would like to know how did you send your package to NVC, by express service mail or just regular mail? I and my husband are worried bec our attorney sent our package by regular mail last April 1. I called the NVC everyday until last Friday to check if they have already received the package and said "NO". So we are still worried bec of our original docs. I saw your timeline that you checked your AOS thru USCIS? Pls tell me how. Thanks in advance. Have a great day.

Rose

Could you guys please help me in answering the below questions for DS260:

1. Is your spouse immigrating to the US with you? (she is already USC and sponsoring me)

2. Is your spouse immigrating to the US at a later date to join you?

3. Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with US law? (i can't fill a NO here, i think but then what documentation they required and when? during interview???)

4. Mother's surname at birth? (will it be different from current one? as she has my father's surname now?)

@ Lucybelle

to ease you mind .. these are the instructions for Costa Rica. So everything is fine. The NVC reps were giving correct information !!!

Costa Rican police certificates may be obtained only through an official request. Instructions and the required letter of request are available from the Embassy’s Consular section. This document should be requested only when you have received notice from the National Visa Center that we have completed all processing, as police certificates are only valid for a specific amount of time (30 days). You will receive further instructions including your interview date and time and how to request the police certificate from your Embassy

My husband used US mail sending our AOS but he has tracking number. Ask your attorney how long it will take your iv package arrive at the NVC..

Thanks for replying. Yes we already asked him about the tracking number (we thought he sent by fedex) before we discovered that he used US mail. And our lawyer replied and said that there is no tracking number bec it is via US mail.

4. Mother's surname at BIRTH. The surname she was born with. So yes it would be her maiden name, Not the name she took after marriage.

Hello. I know bec I told my husband to instruct our lawyer to send the package by fedex and he said He doesn't need to tell him bec he knows what he is doing. And this what happened. from the beginning I knew that our lawyer care less abt us. Bec e don't hear any updates, so i made an effort to make research until I got to VJ. And I learned a lot from our friends here including you. Without VJ maybe our visa processing would take much longer. Do you think our package with our original civil docs will be safe and reach the NVC? Anyways, thank you so much my friend and have a great day.

US mail is pretty safe. If you don't send it priority, they don't give you a delivery range. If I were a lawyer dealing with original documents that are a key factor is my clients case, I would do everything to ensure the documents were protected and tracked. But that's just me... You would assume it would be normal practice but the lawyers seem to be so money hungry. Even if its only $5.00 Such a shame

Keep calling the NVC.. 3 times a day if it makes you feel better.

I tell my husband all the time that if it weren't for VJ, I'd be one of those clueless clients that thinks the lawyer is working on my case and doing everything possible to get it done fast. My husband was annoyed that it took until yesterday for the lawyer to send us the approval notices.

Yes I called NVC 2x a day except Sat and Sun. Not received yet. Here is our lawyer's reply to my husband when we asked for our tracking no. He emailed this on April 4, 8.34 am

Hi Mike:

The package was sent to NVC via U.S. Mail on April 1, 2014. We do not have a tracking number.

Given the shipping date the package likely arrived yesterday or will arrive today.

i just looked up my lawyers website: http://www.silzerlaw.com/office_location.php and they are not open on Fridays! no wonder she did not reply to my email Friday about being able to send IV since it now showed as paid - it is ok because i have told her to send it overnight and i dont mind paying. So will make up the lost time.

They are good lawyers in Orlando- i used them for my H1, then green card and then my citizenship and now my husband. However, i did not know about VJ until this last case, and now i am all micro-managey. haha our lawyer does not seem to mind though so that is good.

I received my case number on 3rd april..gave over email address..

But I havent rcvd any reply giving me instructions..

When I log in onto the payment portal..the aos fee has not been invoiced yet..

And when I log in onto the online forms..it says the foll:

" Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."
