To VJ members from the Philippines, I just want to ask if your NBI clearance was being legalized (red ribbon) at the DFA or not before you send it to NVC? Thanks! :)

To saylin and my dear vj friends, thank you for all your help. We wouldnt reach this far without you. Just wanna share this good news..I received an interview letter today telling that my schedule will be on May 6. I am so glad and thankful that they gave me an appontment immediately after they completed my case on April 3, 2014. TO God be the glory...may we all have a successful closure and God bless us all.

Hi everyone,

I am new member of visa journey. My I-130 has been approved in March. I need some help from other members of vj. My husband is USC by naturalization. He filed his tax for years 2010,2011,2012 & 2013 as MFJ. I have an ITIN as well. The actual issue is that in my ITIN and all tax papers the lawyer ,who filed the tax of my husband, showed me as house wife. In my home country I am working in a government organization. I showed my job in g-325 as well. Now the question is that will it affect my immigration case? Has any significance during the interview? What should we do now? Thanks in advance for the guidance.

Probably not, but having a government job will make you scrutinized more anyhow. Pretty sure DOS will see it as a security risk.


Does the lawyer have the tax returns or did your husband give him the tax return transcript?


(also to note, remember to be honest about your job. Don't think lying will help because it will not in any way, shape, or form. Just though I'd add that, "just in case.")

I-864 question regarding foreign income: petitioner has worked in Finland for the last three years and the income (e.g $50000) shows up on IRS transcripts as wages, but total income shows as $0. So in Part 6, do we put $0 on all three years?

IR1 took 520 days....

Until now I believed express was a faster way to send your package to NVC. Is the priority mail a better option?

USPS Priority Mail Express (or simply Express) is $19.99. I believe it their equivalent of Next Day delivery. The Priority Mail is $5.60. I believe that is a 2 ~ 5 day service. Both have insurance and online tracking features.

When I go in to pay the AOS there is no check box or any information, yet I do have a check box and information under the IV but thats not available yet.

I did fill out the Choice of Agent form yesterday.

(When filling for I-130 I attached my I-864 documents together, an agency told me if I did that It would be faster and I wouldnt have to pay the 88 dollars.) I didnt think its true but did it anyways. COuld that be the case?

Yep, this right here. I chose regular priority mail because I'm only mailing from Boston to New Hampshire, so it's pretty much certain to be a next day delivery regardless of how I send it. Spending the extra $14 was pointless in my case, but for guaranteed next day delivery from farther away in the country it probably would've been worth it to me.

Hi Guys,

My father-in-law is a joint sponser for me. So he has filled 864A, now as he has my mother-in-law also in household. Does my mother-in-law also needs to fill 864A? also does she need to submit her paystubs or job letter as well?

My father-in-law is already going to submit job letter and pay stubs.
