I'm not sure how much more I can expand than what I've already provided in the wiki (not to mention the official instructions themselves).

so which do you think I should file Ms. Saylin?

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

All petitioners sign a completed I-864 or I-864EZ (if qualified) unless the beneficiary qualifies to use an I-864w. Edited by NLR

Yes, don't worry, your documents will get there :) Just allow for that lag time between NVC physically receiving and NVC scanning things in. I don't know if your lawyer doesn't know what he's doing or is just careless, but either way, you have every right to be upset with him. It cost me $5.60 to send my documents via Priority Mail, which I think has 2 day delivery. Since I'm in MA and NVC is very close to me, my documents arrived next day. That amount in postage is a pittance for the peace of mind that comes with a tracking number. And adding the tracking or delivery confirmation option to regular USPS mail isn't expensive either! Your lawyer is definitely not putting any extra effort into this for you... or even the baseline level of effort I would expect for a $4,000 fee.

Until now I believed express was a faster way to send your package to NVC. Is the priority mail a better option?

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.

11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.

2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.

OH HAPPY DAY ! ! ! !!

Just got the email that BOTH bills are ready to be paid !!! Gotta call the attorney and tell him I'll just pay now and I"ll send the docs to him to send with the bar codes. I am payhing him so he might as well do something...right ??

I am so happy ... Everything is flying through !

Why not mail the packages yourself? You couldn't trust him about the payments, that you didn't want to wait until he gets around to it. Same could happen with your packages. I've read in this process about someone who fired their lawyer because he just sat on their papers and did nothing.

Yes, I asked my friend to call to NVC, because it's expensive to call from Russia. You just need to give your birthdayts (yours and your husband), your e-mails and just give some instructions to your friend like don't for get to ask about case namber and IIN. I didn't have no problem with this, my friend got everything for me. They don't ask - who is calling. Now I know about MagicJack and use this app for calling.

Hope it will help you! Good luck!

I disargree, every time I called to NVC, they always ask me who is calling.
