I wanted to help bring down the average! ;)

I'm looking at interviews assigned for March UK case completes. Someone with a March 31 cc has a May 30 interview, so I don't know if they're booked up by now.

Haha, woops! Way too excited apparently. Thank you ^_^

You're in the same time frame as the rest of us, give it a go!

Question: each time you called NVC For an update, did the rep ask you if you filled out the DS 260? Because each time I've called, including today, the rep asks have I submitted my DS 260... Based on your signature and the user waitings signature it took around 10-11business days for a case complete after you submitted IV pack and DS 260... For me DS 260 was submitted 8 days ago.. So I'm assuming 4/8 or 4/9

NVC schedules for as long as it takes to fill up interview slots, which takes less time for busier places like London. I'm not sure how long it'll take them to be done for May tbh.

Nope, NVC has never asked me if I've completed the DS-260. When they ask how they can help me after verifying my info, I've been saying "I was wondering if my IV application or civil documents have been reviewed yet," so they already knew I had submitted everything.

Many thanks to everyone for the congratulations. I hope there's much more good news around here to follow! NVC really seems to be picking up the pace :dancing:

Haha a good movie can help! We had the yellow triangle for a few days and it got unlocked around 24 hours after receiving the IV bill invoice email! With the whole visa process I realized how much I was lacking patience! Something I need to work on ;-) Soon yours will be available!

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

Quick question guys,

If I get my father to sponsor me for my Affidavit of Support, and he lives in the same household, (in fact, he claims me as a dependent in taxes because I'm a student and don't work) should I fill out the I-864 put 0 for income and then should my father file the I-864A or I-864?

I'm assuming it's the I-864A but wanted to get a 2nd opinion

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

You (petitioner) - I864

Father - I864

I864A is usually used if you are using income of your spouse combined with yours, so in this case if your father includes income of your mom, your mom fills out I864A and dad fills out I864 or the other way around.

Also you should send a copy of your birth certificate showing he is your father if he claims you as a dependent.

Very bad news. Hoping for some advice. The NVC is emailing me in response to my AOS package submissions and stating that they are either encrypted or password protected. I have never put a password on any of my emails or attachments and I have emailed them to my wife and she can open everything just fine. I am at a complete loss of what to do. I could resent everything to them in an email but then in two weeks when they respond they are just going to say the same thing about not opening them. I have no idea what encryption is but I didnt do that either and again my wife can open the attachments.....

I think my only option is to opt out of EP and mail everything into them including our already EP submitted IV Packet.....

Thanks for the quick response! I'm very glad I asked since it appears I was lost :P

So to make sure, I (petitioner) file the I-864 along with a note that I don't file taxes because of no income, and evidence proving I am son of my father (birth certificate) and that he claims me as dependent (copy of 1040)

As for my father, he does file married filling jointly but my mom has 0 income. I will include my father's W2 form to prove it is all his income this way my mon does not need to fill out an I-864A right?

Thanks again and good luck with your case too!

Thank you for that information! Can I pay the AOS without paying the IV fees? The IV isn't available yet. I just don't want to mess it up like if for some reason it wants both at the same time. It sounds like a dumb question, but I'm so afraid of slowing something down.

If the fee is available to play, by all means, pay it asap.

Im quoting myself haha. I spoke to a supervisor at NVC and he said my AOS packet that I sent on March 6th was received and processed and has been approved as of March 25th which is why I received "false" checklist for the DS260 on the 27th. So apparently AOS approval and IV False checklists are correlated (I wasnt told that but based on what he said I am assuming this). So my other AOS packet submissions after March 6th are apparently being rejected not because of encryption or password protection but because the AOS is completed (again he didnt say that but i am assuming).

Yes including the W2 will eliminate the need for the I-864a.
