Gosh, this country needs to get their acts together. :rofl:

I'm going to triple check call the NVC when I get home. Not because I don't trust you, but because I need to hear it myself.

This whole thing has been such a nightmare!!!

When you call, make them double check. They both had to check several places... They both came back saying the same thing...

Hi guys,

I have an AOS question:

My form got sent back to me because I had the wrong amount on line 19 (2013 adjusted gross income). I used line 37 from my 1040, but was told by NVC I should've used line 22. Also, I had money from self employment that line 22 from the 1040 doesn't include. Do I include that as well?

If you did 1040EZ then you use : adjusted gross income.

If you did any other type of 1040 you use : Total income.

Woah, you sure?? My husband just got his police certificate and it says on it good for 90 days. He's at the Casa Amarilla today getting it authenticated. I told him to get three copies and we're sending in one with the IV packet. I don't want any checklists!

Also, I won't send in originals. I plan to send in certified copies. Don't want them losing my marriage certificate!!!

It has an official name, but everyone knows it as the Casa Amarilla, because guess what- it's yellow! :idea: My husband dropped off his police record today to be apostilled and they said it might be done by next week. So have your husband start a few weeks ahead of time. The reports ARE valid for 90 days, not 30, so he can get it earlier. And you *don't* need the official request to get one. (but let's not tell the embassy or NVC that because I want to send in IV packet without the record! :) )

Once I call NVC this afternoon I'll let you know. The lady I talked to in NVC a while ago told me about the police report "we send you a request for it" but I assumed that meant the IV instructions not a checklist.

The yellow triangle appeared on March 26 at 8:15 am, on March 27 at 4:30 pm IV became payable.....

I used and definitely recommend Internet Explorer to pay it.....Payment Pending status showing......

Printed out bar-coded cover sheet...slipped it under the binder clip..in the AOS envelope....

went to FEDEX...arrived 30 minutes before the truck.....and over-night shipped it the same day........

It looks like mail is getting logged in much faster at the NVC. I sent all the civil documents for my parents and they arrived yesterday by USPS and were logged into the computer today. Nice to see that things are moving quicker at the NVC :)

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

Hey all,

Called NVC today and they said they received our case Mach 19th, but it still is not "in the system", and told us to call back April 19th. So what do we think? Still plan on calling them everyday and checking on it, but hopefully this process speeds up a bit. Any info for us?

I see that you had same problems with your parents case number too. How long did it take for NVC to change case # and what did you do to change it.

I have same problem, our daughter got correct embassy and I am not. I sent NVC e-mail with a request. Did you do the same or not?

Hi! That sounds about right. It takes about 20 business days (or a month) to get your case numbers. You could use this time to get your documents ready for the Affidavit of Support (AOS) and Immigrant Visa (IV). You'll have to get the documents that are in Portuguese translated as well. Make sure you read Saylin's wiki (see my signature), many times!

05/13/2014 - AOS Package received (scanned)

05/16/2014 - Packet IV recieved

05/23/2014 - Check list for birth certificate (didn't like daughters US birth certificate, wanted to see Ukrainian) :wow:

06/06/2014 - Case still under review, this expedite approval is BS (sorry don't have other words for it) :cry:

06/17/2014 - Check list for AOS ( missed one spote, did't put check mark )

06/20/2014 - Sent AOS responce.

07/01/2014 - AOS Package scanned.

07/18/2014 - Medical exam done.

08/12/2014 - CASE COMPLETE :goofy::goofy::dancing::luv::dance::dance:SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!

08/15/2014 - Case in transit.

08/21/2014 - INTERVIEW, APPROVED :dancing: :luv: :dance: :dance: :dance: :D

08/22/2014 - Visa issued

08/26/2014 - Visa in hand

09/08/2014 - US Entry
