IV has been paid since April 1, and it still shows in process, is this normal? It's been a week since I paid it. My AOS only took 3 days from paying it to it showing paid. Why is the IV taking so long??

Check your bank account see if its pending or been debited

my husband too.. I am making him go to his family doctor to get what vaccinations he doesn't have. Do they give the varicella to men?

If he's had chickenpox he doesn't need it. So far all he's needed is tetanus. We thought he needed more, but when we called the embassy it looks like he won't need as much. I think he still will need the blood test and chest x-ray.

Just spoke to GINA.. What an amazing person. She was offering up some very good info....

FYI Costa Rica filers... you don't need to send in the Police Cert to the NVC... They collect it at the interview.. Its only good for 30 days !!

Gina just saved me a big Fedex fee for overnighting that to the US. Also told me I can send in the original docs with the AOS ..Passport page, Birth cert and Marriage Cert.

also.. not adjusted income... TOTAL INCOME.. keep saying it over and over... HAHAHAHA

Woah, you sure?? My husband just got his police certificate and it says on it good for 90 days. He's at the Casa Amarilla today getting it authenticated. I told him to get three copies and we're sending in one with the IV packet. I don't want any checklists!

Also, I won't send in originals. I plan to send in certified copies. Don't want them losing my marriage certificate!!!

Waiting desperately to throw money at the government is one of the oddest feelings I've had through this whole process. I don't want to think about how many times I logged into CEAC with fingers crossed for a bill

Also now I really want a bowl of Cocoa Puffs.

No,it is not my case, we got married in USA.

Yes, I called to NVC and told them about my situation, they ask me to send the letter requesting to change case # and attach copy of my passport for proof. I just don't know about this stupid proof, I have been living in Ukraine almost all my life and I am Ukrainian citizen, makes no sense at all.

So now I have to wait for new case #. They also recommended not to do DS-261 and AOS. So I just hope and pray that it will not take too long. :(

Oh, I'm sorry this happened to you! I hope they give special attention to your case since it was very obvious that this was their fault. Keep praying and believing that everything will be ok and will be fixed very soon! (Hugs)

Nice to see you here ! I can't believe it took this long for you to get a number....You were approved way before me.

I too got approved before you and NVC didn't even receive my file. The K3 did something good for you even though it didn't serve its intended purpose, wished I had filed one too.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.

I wish I had waited three months and filed in June. I'd probably be ahead of where I am now. No matter how illogical that seems.

Good day to all VJ members.

I only want to share our experiences from our attorney. We have sent all our original civil documents to him early last week thru fedex mail service. He received them in 2 days from Thailand. So he asked my husband to sign the AOS form, so my husband did it immediately and sent to him using fedex service. (mind you we paid 4,000 US$ to our attorney). We use fedex service because it is safer and faster (we are buying the time). As usual I did the follow u, I called the NVC 2x a day if they have already received the package. Of course they said no, so I was thinking why it takes a long time. I asked my husband to send our attorney an email to ask abt the tracking no. Our attorney replied and he said, there is no tracking no. coz he sent it via US mail. I and my husband are both upset. We are worried that they might get lost. Please help. Does anyone here have sent original documents via mail to NVC? Do you think it will reach NVC?

How irresponsible is our lawyer they really do not care to their clients. They only want money.

Thank you to my VJ family. Pls reply

I wish I had waited three months and filed in June. I'd probably be ahead of where I am now. No matter how illogical that seems.

I think Feb-June was the black hole for 2013, and though things still aren't normal for people who filed after that, they're certainly getting better. July and August transfer spreadsheets reflect higher % NOA2s than May and June. September approvals are well underway too. It took USCIS way too long to get their ####### together.

Hello everyone,

I had my IV papers done back in December (thinking my process would take much less time than it's really taking) and I am wondering if the papers (police record, birth certificate...) along with the translations have to be less than 3 months old.

Help? :)

Pls reply

I'm not sure where your lawyer is based, but US mail is pretty reliable. I would've thought a lawyer getting that kind of money would pay the few extra dollars to send by Priority Mail so he could track it, but you should still be fine with regular mail service. The thing about NVC is they won't know they've received your package until several days after it actually arrives in their mailroom. You should ask your attorney what day he mailed it so you can estimate when NVC might scan your package as received.
