Sure enough I have to request to change my case number now. :( So much time will be lost.

Why would NVC give me number for Moscow embassy. :bonk:

It depends where you got married. Sometimes they give a different embassy based on your place of marriage. I was married in Gibraltar (UK territory) and they said I have to do my visa in Morocco but I live in Spain. But we put a note that since I will stay in Madrid if we can get Madrid Embassy in Spain instead of Casablanca, Morocco. And yes I got this initials on my case number - MDD (US Embassy, Madrid). I don't know if we have the same case or they just really processed your case wrong. But yeah go ahead and call them! I hope it will not take too long to fix it! :)

Hello Friends,

I am getting ready for DS-260 form with the help of screenshots. Here are my doubts.,

1.My native language is Tamil. So How could I write my full name in Tamil? When we filed i130, We just wrote my name and address in Tamil using Pen. But not sure how could I fill it out in electronic form.

2. I lived in 4 different addressess from my age 16. One is the present address ,been living for past 8 years. 5 years in previous address. But both the address are in the same town which were street next to each other.not so far tho. During living in the present address, I moved to Chennai for job n lived there for 6 months before wedding and another 6 months after wedding in 2 different addressess which were next flat to each other in the same apartment. jus a single number differs in door number for both. So Do I need to get PCC only from regional passport office for present address thts the one on my passport or Do I need to get Police certificate for Chennai address also? or Do I need to get PCC for all 4 addressess? I am so confused in this part.

3.In the present and previous address information page., we were asked for Home phone number or Work phone number or Mobile number. So whose number should i give here. Can I give my husband's work phone number or mobile phone number? or Should I give mine?

4.Should I say Yes or No for the "Is your mailing address as same as your present address?" I lives in my present address in India. Should I give my USA address where I intend to live or India address?. For what , They are asking for mailing address? For all future correspondence or only for passport with visa delivery?

5.In Present work/Education/Training information page. Should I say Homemaker or Not employed in Primary occupation? Coz I am simply focusing on visa stuffs, not working anywhere currently.

6. In previous work/education/training information page., Both my previous employers moved to different locations in the same city. Not in the address where they were located when i was working. So Should I give the current addresses of them or Just Can I give the addresses which has been mentioned in my offer letter or Pay stubs or Experience certificates? If I give the current addressess of both the employers, Then Do I need to get some proof or letter from them?

7.What does that mean Supervisor's Surname and Given name? Whose name I should give?

8. I can read, write and speak in both English and Tamil. I do speak sourashtra which is my mother tongue. The meaning of native language and mother tongue are the same? coz My native is Tamilnadu, where we communicate with people in Tamil. And We do speak in sourashtra with our relatives, sourashtrian friends and family. So My native language is Tamil or Sourashtra? in No.1 question I mentioned that my native language is Tamil but I m not sure on that too. But when filed i130 petition. I printed my full name and address in Tamil where i was aksed to fill it in native language.

9.My husband gonna sign in the form as Petitioner and fill out all. So in Sign and submit page.,Should I say Yes or No to " Did anyone assist you in filling out this application?" How could we take this question as to petitioner or beneficiary? If it ask to petitioner, Should We say Yes or No? or If the question is for beneficiary, Should I say Yes or No since my husband(Petitioner) gonna fill out this form? and whose DOB we should give?

Thanks for sparing your time in reading my post. Great advices would be appreciated greatly.

I can't answer all of these, but I'll tell you what I did on a few.

1. You write your name in English first, then there's a place for writing it in your native language characters. You can select "technology does not apply" if you can't do it on a keyboard.

4. My mailing address is different from my physical address. We don't have mail delivered to houses here, it's to PO boxes. So I put they are different. If you receive mail to your house, you have the same mailing and physical address.

5. Unemployed.

6. We encountered this with my husband's former schools that had moved locations. We put their current location.

7. If you're unemployed, it's N/A

8. Mother tongue= native tongue. There's a place where you write all the languages you speak, just list all of them.

9. Just put "no"

I just completed filling i864, I filled all items either or with N/A or none

But could not fill the redundant "date of birth" blocks. Had to leave those blank.

Hope that won't be an issue. And I won't get a check list for leaving them blank.

For Q #1. If you go into word and then under the symbols there are many different alphabets. You can type it out the copy it into the form. I got this from another member and it works. My hubby's language is in Cyrillic letters. But yes you can also select to not write it but I wrote it because I wanted everything to be perfect. :)

Wow I just spoke to Casey, she told me to wait 30 business days for case number ..crappp @#$

But the funny thing is she tried to explain me that 30 business days means : starts on March 11th and ends on April 11th ....

I am puzzled; don't they teach these kids what it means : business days?

Not sure if someone already answered you, but...Since we are in the same situation, here is what I did:

-in response to your earlier question about immigrating with the spouse, it's asking if your husband has a foreign wife that will be immigrating with him. It's for people who are immigrating people and their families. Since you are a USC, you will not be immigrating so you mark NO.

-as for the addresses, they don't exist where we live here either...so I wrote things like that- "next to the big mosque", etc. For a few that had post boxes, like schools, etc, I gave those instead of a street address. Most of the addresses I submitted are random neighborhoods with no streets or house numbers. I think they will understand because 1) they should know that some places don't have addresses, 2) it's the US government and they can look it up somehow if they need to, and 3) I think this question is mostly for people who change countries and thus need police certificates for multiple countries. Another VJ member said that she did the same general thing and had no problems. I haven't heard back yet but will let you know. Worst case scenario, they'll ask for more info.

Okay something I'm a little worried about- addresses here in Costa Rica don't exist. They're like "25 meters south of the pharmacy..." Most streets don't have names, but some do, it's just no one knows their names and there's no numbers like US addresses. So for some of the addresses we put "Calle 3" (street 3) with no number, just like that. Others we gave the "Costa Rican" address such as "25 meters south of blah blah" Will this be an issue or will they understand?

(also, on all the other forms I just added an extra sheet and wrote out the full "addresses". But because of the online form I was unable to do that)

Also, my "address" here in CR as I filled out on AOS is different from what we filled out on the DS-260. On the AOS I put my "address" here as a PO box number. Will they compare the two? Or are they independent of each other? Should I expect a checklist?

I am the petitioner (USC). My husband is Senegalese.

Hi

Use this link to write in tamil - http://english-to-tamil-keyboard.appspot.com/%C2'>

Police certificate has to be from Regional passport office where you got your passport from.

Vermont received 3/14/16

Bio-metrics 4/12/16

i-751 Approved 2/28/17

Hello,

Currently we both are living in India (with US spouse). My uncle is the joint sponsor for me(Father-In-Law). What is the process for submitting AOS I mean i864, Do they need US spouse (Petitioner) signatures on that i864. if yes? how can we do that??

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

~Blsuda

The petitioner and the joint sponsor both needs to fill out a I-864 form separately and signed unless petitioner and joint sponsor both lives in a same house in U.S.A and relates to each other than the form would be i-864 a , i am in the same situation as i am the petitioner and living with my wife in India i filled and signed my i -864 form and send it to my uncle in USA ( joint sponsor) and he filled and signed his i -864 form and send it together to NVC for me.

I am the beneficiary. In DS-260, can I put the USA address of my wife in "Is your Mailing Address the same as your Present Address?". If they really do send any mail, it will get delivered much faster. What do they use this address for?

During the entire IV process, do they send any correspondence to mailing address of the beneficiary?
