NVC has just received my case from NSC!

It took 10 days from Nebraska to New Hampshire. :ranting:

Goodbye NSC! I don't think I'll miss you. You were just too slow!

Congratulations......You have escaped the immigration " black hole " known as USCIS

One of my friends took 8 weeks after NOA2 to arrive and NVC with no reason

even after repeated calls....

Hi,

I actually called NVC and they told me it was accepted and later that day I received an email from NVC saying the DS-261 was accepted I was also told by someone on here that once your IV fee is invoiced that means the ds-261 is accepted

I called earlier and they said it was processed yesterday. Received the invoice just a little while ago, and it was available to be paid in the tool.

Now prepping IV documents to send...

I noticed your wife local office is Chicago, meaning she resides in the Chicago area and Assuming your wife is not on active duty in the U.S Armed Forces, For family of 4, she would have to make $29,812.

You should mention 2013 with her 2013 Tax Return. Also include her W2.

I want to freeze one and bring it to my husband when I fly down for the interview but I'm not sure it would be very appetizing . I'm sure it would be ok to eat but it would probably look nasty Unless I freeze the contents and just bring the roll separately. Has to be an Amoroso roll or its not a Philly Cheesesteak. Philly people understand what I mean !! Etrangais???

Hear, hear for the Philly cheesesteak! Jim's on South Street all the way, after a night out in Center city.

BTW, I read your other post about your last conversation with NVC rep. It's a wonderful thing what you are doing, passing all that info back to us. Kudos LoveMyTico!

Hey my VJ family!! First off thanks for everyone's help, I would seriously would be in the mental hospital if it wasn't for you guys! So this past week we've been able to do the DS-261, AOS fee, and IV fee, which in my opinion is great right? Sounds like NVC is getting their act together....maybe?? Anyway I've gotten our packets together and plan on sending it tomorrow or Friday. So here's a quick run down of what I got for each packet:

AOS:

Cover Sheet with bar code

Personal cover sheet

I-864 signed and dated

3 years transcripts

Employment letter

IV Packet:

Cover sheet with bar code

Personal cover sheet

Husbands BC w/ sticky note

Marriage Certificate w/ sticky note

Husbands 2x2 pics

Husbands police certificate

Husbands bio passport page

I believe that this is all that is suppose to be sent in, but I can't help but to doubt myself and feel like there is something that I'm missing.

Hi

I have a query regarding the AOS, and I hope one someone here can help. We are still to be allocated a case number at the NVC, but am getting all of my ducks in a row for when we do.

Now I sort of understand the requirement to have a % of either cash or assets that can be easily converted to cash that is above the poverty line - I am unsure what this means exactly, but from reading previous posts I think for a couple we need to demonstrate that we have approximately $75K of cash/assets.

Currently we have approx $20K in cash, and my wife has a house in Las Vegas that she paid $147K for in 2012. Her current mortgage balance is approx $110K, and the agent she used to purchase the house has said the house is now worth approx $190K.

What will we need to show on the AOS to back this up? Will we need to get a full appraisal for the property or can we use a thing called a BPO (Brokers Price Opinion), which is like an appraisal except that it is done by a realtor. A BPO is an official source (from what I have been told) to ascertain the value of a property.

Thanks in advance for any opinions or experiences with this

Guys i have a quick question regarding form DS-261. My wife last name is Mazhar and my last name is Shahid. No middle names, she didn't change her name at all.

For DS-261 for surnames what do i put? i have put "Mazhar" for her and "shahid for my section (agent)

2nd question for "Given names" i have put "FIRST NAME+LAST NAME which is "Mazhar" and i did the same for my section. is this right? I feel like Given Names should only have First name?

I think it should be exactly the same as it is on your passports. Nothing more and nothing less. If you don't have a middle name and your passport shows that as well then your given name should be just your first name.
