We are working with a lawyer too and she will call them today. If they want something else then I honestly don`t know what to submit because I can`t give them more than a certified copy.....

Was your problem the birth certificate too?

Yes, birth certificate too but also a missing page in the AoS document. Our lawyer called yesterday and she couldn't work it out, so she called in a help line.

WOW, just talked to Nicky at the NVC... I hope everyone gets a chance to talk to her. She is awesome. She told me that it can take up to 30 days to review packages but not usually. ( a glimmer of hope) The DS260 shows as acceptsed after the review of the packages. Corrections to the DS260 are brought to the interview.

So my birth certificate was translated into Englisch by a sworn intepreter and translator appointed by the resolution of the Regional court and was certified by a public notary. I don`t know what else should have been done ....

And my original birth certificate was issued by local civil authorities. But I have only one - that`s why I got one certified copy and translated it into English.....

So yes, I submitted a certified copy of my original birth certificate that was issued by local civil authority.

The certified copy was issued by the public notary (public notary got of course my original birth certificate) and the certified copy was translated into English by a sworn intepreter and translator by the resolution of the Regional court.

I submitted 3 pages that were bind together with a thin cord. First page: Certified copy in German (with original stamp and signature), second page: the translation of the certified copy, third page: Clause of intepreter (with original stamp and copy).

I am curoius too what the issue is - will call and ask today ....

USCIS didn`t have a problem with my birth certificate... :-)

You stated the certified copy issued by the public notary....This will not be acceptable to NVC.

You stated you have an original birth certificate. What government agency issued it?

It is that government (civil) authority only that can issue a certified copy of your birth certificate.

It will be an certified original document that they print.

Birth Certificates

You (and any family members immigrating with you to the United States) must obtain an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in your country of birth,

showing your date of birth, place of birth, and parentage.

Important Notice: All Immigrant Visa applicants must submit a long form original birth certificate. Short form birth certificates will not be accepted.

The certificate must contain the:

• Your date of birth
• Your place of birth
• Names of both parents
• Indication by the appropriate authority that it is an extract from the official records

Ya know..... I waited 11 months for my approval.... why does this wait at the NVC seem sooooooo horrible? Is it because its the end? This process is ridiculous !

Totally in agreement. I think we are so close to the end that the itch has gotten unbearable!!! I love seeing "case complete" notices, but it makes me sooooo impatient to see people with dates AFTER mine getting those final fabulous words!!!

I think there are a whole bunch of us that should be getting news this week. COME ON NVC!

yahoo! the court sent us to the other court (fiscal) then they couldn't do anything, and now back to first court, and finally they are going to write us the letter we needed!!! Which says something about no convictions bla bla) YAY Husband gets it at 3.30pm then straight to DHL to send to lawyer- then to NVC. Back on track Not gonna hold my breath, but maybe just maybe, they will review it by Friday, and give us Case Complete by next week or following in time for 2nd round of June interview scheduling for London!

Is that at the payment portal where we paid our fees? I never thought to look at that again.

I agree, I am much more impatient that the first stage part- probably because I did not know about this website until NVC- and now I can SEE everyone advancing it is pretty exciting!

I'm feeling smart - i figured out how to make a spoiler signature.

CEAC never shows when a form has been accepted, only that it's completed. There's no update beyond "completed" until it changes to "on file at post" after you get case complete. The status page is really pretty minimally useful, until/unless you get to a point where you're trying to time your medical with your case's arrival at the embassy.

CEAC never shows when a form has been accepted, only that it's completed. There's no update beyond "completed" until it changes to "on file at post" after you get case complete. .......so it changes to " on file at post "... sometime AFTER case complete...

He just kept asking and had to be bounced back and forth 6 times- but luckily the nice person at the first court is sorting it all out- even though she said no at first she went back and did some calling herself over the last couple of days and figured the problem out. YAY
