They told me to write e-mail request to change an embassy and attached copy of my passport. I just know that it will take forever for them to read an e-mail :crying: It's sucks.

I've seen someone with this same issues and she was asked to do the same thing your are asked to and they also told her it will take 30 days or so to correct it. crazy mistake!

Ok so here it goes ..... While filling out DS260 for my father, I wasnt sure what to write for his employment. He used to own a business but sold it back in 2000. So when the question says whether you are employed I should write NO. Also I m thinking thinking that where it says previous employment (for last 10 years), I shouldnt write anything as the business he owned/sold was more than 10 years ago and now he is considered retired. Am I thinking right? Thanks for your help.

AOS form is DS261, did you complete that already? If so, that means they are looking at your application. This is a false checklist. I received two false checklists when they were reviewing our IV packet, one to pay the IV fee and one to complete the AOS form. No need to resubmit anything.. The DS 261 is online....

I've noticed you made this comment once before and thought you should know that the AOS is the I-864, not the DS261 (which is the choice of agent form)... just so ya know:)

Hey guys on the DS-260 QUESTION: "Is your spouse immigrating to the USA with you?"

Am I? And who is it talking about? I live in CR with my husband, do I put "yes"?

If your spouse is a US citizen, then no, he is not immigrating with you. He may be 'moving' along with you when the time comes, but he is not an immigrant:)

Saylin,

I got interview date, May 22nd. Thank you for all the support!!! (F)

Yay !!

Saylin and all, I have question on 'domicile'.

We are both living abroad at the moment, but my wife (petitioner) received job offer to internally relocate back to New York office.

I believe we will be still staying outside when we send out all required documents to NVC though.

My question is if we still need to prove local domicile even if petitioner is scheduled to come back to US for work in a short while.

Thank you.

And one more thing, I logged in to the caec website and notice my surname was wrongly spelt by one letter but my wife's surname was spelt correctly. Is this something I should worry about?

Okay something I'm a little worried about- addresses here in Costa Rica don't exist. They're like "25 meters south of the pharmacy..." Most streets don't have names, but some do, it's just no one knows their names and there's no numbers like US addresses. So for some of the addresses we put "Calle 3" (street 3) with no number, just like that. Others we gave the "Costa Rican" address such as "25 meters south of blah blah" Will this be an issue or will they understand?

(also, on all the other forms I just added an extra sheet and wrote out the full "addresses". But because of the online form I was unable to do that)

Also, my "address" here in CR as I filled out on AOS is different from what we filled out on the DS-260. On the AOS I put my "address" here as a PO box number. Will they compare the two? Or are they independent of each other? Should I expect a checklist?

i have a funny feeling people are not bothering to fill out saylins form these days

In the short term not as much but as Saylin embarks on her new job / career and spends less time here

it will have a growing impact on the spreadsheet but much more so the quality of the thread.

We as the final group (offspring) who benefited from Her full time dedication and commitment were truly blessed.

Going forward the thread will become something very different without Her daily care, wisdom and guidance. :crying:

Cool. I had no idea some countries did that. Learn something new every day!

I know right? Myself, I learned some interesting things dealing with the Peruvian government, like my wife's birth certificate was actually hand written on an official book kept in the archives. Until about 20 years ago, every time someone requested a birth certificate, the gov. clerk would grab the book and put it on the copy machine. They've gone digital since then.
