good morning!

i don't know where to post our update but today my husband received letter from embassy in paris with interview date!

expedite request was approved at NVC and shipped out our file to Paris early this month. finally got interview date ( 22nd May) today.

a year long journey, we are on final step.

Good afternoon everyone,

Quick question..I am scanning all of my IV and AOS documents into a pdf, but some of my documents are rotated wrong. I am trying to rotate them, but when I save it doesn't save the changes. I was told that you can't save changes into adobe reader, does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

I called NVC today and talked to... Guess who? Mrs Joy.

I think she is a changed woman: Now she sounds very nice on the phone and very pleasant.

I'm wondering, may be someone from VJ told her about this thread and how she was ranked, hmmmmmmmmmm getting paranoid now? do we have an NVC spy amongst us?????

Happy Monday everyone. Quick question. My husband's police certificate is in Arabic and I have to get it translated. Does the translation need to be certified/notarized?

The Embassy for your country has a list of Dr's and places they accept translations from. Go to Marriage in UAE and there it shows you how to

get married in this country then below names and addresses of Dr's and translation establishment. If you don't do it at one of the ones on their list they just might not accept. It's better not to risk it.

You can always make a copy of the back of a document (if it is on both pages) and then scan only one side.

This way you can rotate them any which way you want before scanning!!!

The translation copy has to show info about the translator, that he is in fact knowledgable and capable of translating from Arabid to English.

I know the US embassy in casablance Morocco REQUIRES the translation to be done by a translator from Morocco.

I am almost 100% positive that it just needs to be someone who is competent in both languages, and will sign and date the translation, saying that they understand enough English and Arabic to be able to translate the document. It doesn't necessarily have to be a certified translator.

For our I-130, we had a family member translate our documents and the family member is not a certified translator. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

grrr, no further progress with us today- ARG so frustratiing!!

Here is what hubby said about our needed court records from our NVC checklist:

The office I emailed, called me and said they had nothing and they couldn't do a letter to that effect as the court may have something, even though I then said to him that the court had told me to

write to that office!

So I called the court again and got a not very helpful woman who said what I had already should be enough even though I said it wasn't!

So I emailed the court office like I did on Friday explaining the situtation and will call them back tomorrow.

Any advice Saylin? Sorry to ask you when you are at work.

Depend on the Embassy, in Egypt it needs to be the ones on their list so they need to check their embassy to make sure they don't make a mistake.

I found this at the UEA US Embassy website boy all Embassies are so different.

Q5: Do I need English translations for my documents?

A: For documents not originally in English, one must provide an English translation from a certified translation provider.
