Hello, It looks silly but it is better if you fill out "N/A" or "NONE" as needed on every blank field. Other people here have received checklists for blank fields. I don't think I've heard of anyone getting a checklist for typing N/A or "none".

If it is just you, your beneficiary and using only your income, have you considered filling out the I-864EZ? Check out if you qualify to submit this form instead of the longer I-864.

Yes bruins. We used the 186ez and had no problems. They approved it with no check list. we left no blanks. I even put a big X in the boxes for family members. I left nothing blank. If you qualify for the 184ez, I'd suggest using it. It's much simpler and less spaces to accidently leave blank. Good luck

Yup, I used the EZ form too. You should definitely use it if you can. A couple of things to be careful with this form:

- Fill out "place of residence" in part 3. It tells you to leave it blank if it is the same as your mailing address but more than one person received a checklist for doing that, which is totally unfair for those people that did nothing wrong but followed the exact instructions. Either put an address (if it happens to be different in your case) or type "N/A" or "NONE". I typed **SAME AS 8. MAILING ADDRESS** and it went fine

- Recheck items 14 and 15 in section 3 after printing the form. I've heard several people miss them because some versions of Adobe let you answer these questions but then they go blank when you print the form. I saw it with my version too, so I hand wrote my answers with a black pen before mailing out my AOS

- Of course, type N/A or NONE on any other field that you leave blank

Priority date isn't an issue for IR1/CR1 filers.

Bangladesh seems to be a medium-volume consulate for Asia. Look at historical statistics for your consulate/embassy's volume of immediate relative visas here: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2013AnnualReport/FY13AnnualReport-TableXII.pdf

Submit all those things to NVC, and they'll forward them to the consulate when you get case complete Make sure you're using originals or certified copies.

Mexico's embassy is the one that issues most visas... I guess that the embassy must be huge and with lots of employees xD

37.5k immediate relative visas on 2013 .. That's almost 50% of total immediate relative visas in North America (75.8K- and they are including Central America in North America-)

That's good too.

I guess if you leave it blank (because the instructions right next to the question tells you to leave it blank), then the reviewer is still unclear whether the sponsor meant to leave it blank or the sponsor forgot to answer the question. So you should be good as long as you type something applicable, like you said. A trick question indeed.

Hey mate, thanks for the quick reply. I see from your timeline that you sent your AOS and IV packets before the case # change? I take it this was no problem? To be fair NVC told me that it was ok...

.... I sent the email with a copy of my passport and they have confirmed they have changed my address and are in the process of changing the case #

Was that 40 business days or 40 days days...

Hmm, now that I look back at it, it was 30 days total they took for me. I has some issues though, NBC kept me emailing to send the new address like 3 times! Although after I sent in proof, it changed within 7 days. Since yo already sent in proof, I am guessing a week is a good bet for you to get a new case number.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in DHAKA, BANGLADESH. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

Hey guys - I know Saylin's wiki says DO NOT leave fields blank and to mark them as N/A or None where appropriate, even though the instructions says to leave it blank. What did everyone do? Did you get a checklist for leaving fields blank?

I left things blanks and had no problems, I mean I did get a checklist but not for the (intended) blanks. In the address just put same as mailing address. I did accidentally leave some blanks that I shouldn't have left blank, Make sure that even if you do not have other family members or other income, I think its Part 7 and 10, at the end there still is a question for the total. So, even if you don't have other income or family members, you still have to put a zero! Safe bet though, is write N/A, that way you'll have a lower chance or missing the needed blanks like me. ^__^

Dear VJers -

I obtained police certificate on November 2013 from India. I will be sending this to NVC. The PCC does not indicate an expiry date.

If I send this to NVC, do you know if they will accept it? Is there a validity date that NVC goes by?

The only validity date I found was on Packet IV instructions listed on Mumbai consulate's website. It says a year. If so, I am well within it.

When is your appointment.

This is a bit tricky.

Because the validity of the PCC itself is 6 months - the mumbai consulate says 1 year

They might just ask you do get another.

Even if you submitted it at the NVC stage - at the consulate they might just ask you to bring a new one - just because 6 months have passed.

Go and get another one just to be prepared.
