I had a question on the DS-260. It asks for other names used. My wife did not have a last name before we got married then after we got married she took on my last name. So where it asks for other names used im not sure what to put there. I tried N/A for the last name, but it will not take it

Hi Everybody,

I received a checklist for my AOS today. For those people doing electronic processing make sure you submit every page including page 9 which is for the lawyer if you have one. Its a blank page if you are doing your own application but will be checklisted if not included with your scanning. even though page 8 is your contract with your signature and date. I guess Saylin you can add this as your tips for checklisted if not added already.

I started this process with a full head of hair and now I almost look like Kojak.....

07-23-13 NOA1

12-13-13 NOA2

NVC

01-14-14 case received by NVC

02-19-14 case number and IIN# assigned, gave NVC email add.

02-19-14 optin for electronic processing email sent

02-24-14 submitted DS-261

02-25-14 invoiced and paid for I-864

02-27-14 AOS shown as paid

03-10-14 optin email accepted by NVC

03-11-14 DS-261 accepted by NVC

03-12-14 scanned and emailed AOS

03-12-14 invoiced and paid for IV fees

03-24-14 IV fees shown as paid

So your wife didn't have a surname or family name before you? Just a given name?

Yes it is important to include EVERY page. At least you can easily scan the last page and email away.

Yes it is important to include EVERY page. At least you can easily scan the last page and email away.

yes she just had a first name which is reflected on her birth certificate. Our marriage certificate, passport, and her identification paper for Afghanistan has the last name she took on when we got married

How long is the police clearance certificate valid for? I've got a police clearance certificate from the UK and India which were issued on September last year.

Sure enough I have to request to change my case number now. :(:cry: So much time will be lost.

Why would NVC give me number for Moscow embassy. :bonk:

12/21/2001 - Got married (L)

07/15/2013 - I-130 Sent

07/18/2013 - NOA1

01/23/2014 - NOA2 approved

02/06/2014 - I-130 Sent to NVC

NVC:

02/19/2014 - NVC received

03/25/2014 - I-130 case # assigned :dancing: :dance:

Waiting for new case number :clock: (wrong embassy code assigned)

04/02/2014 - requested to change embassy at NVC Inquiry@state.gov

04/12/2014 - sent an expedite request along with request to change embassy NVCExpedite@state.gov

04/18/2014 - denied to change the embassy (luck of Supervisor's attention, :( I think he didn't see an attachment in the letter. So we sent another request again)

04/22/2014 - received a new case # and a note that expedite request is under review for me and our daughter :clock:

04/24/2014 - DS-261 completed

05/02/2014 - Paid AOS and Packet IV fees

05/07/2014 - Sent Package IV from Ukraine

05/08/2014 - Sent AOS Package

05/08/2014 - All Bills shoved paid ( DS-260 available)

05/09/2014 - DS-260 completed

05/13/2014 - AOS Package received (scanned)

05/16/2014 - Packet IV recieved

05/23/2014 - Check list for birth certificate (didn't like daughters US birth certificate, wanted to see Ukrainian) :wow:

06/06/2014 - Case still under review, this expedite approval is BS (sorry don't have other words for it) :cry:

06/17/2014 - Check list for AOS ( missed one spote, did't put check mark )

06/20/2014 - Sent AOS responce.

07/01/2014 - AOS Package scanned.

07/18/2014 - Medical exam done.

08/12/2014 - CASE COMPLETE :goofy::goofy::dancing::luv::dance::dance:SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!

08/15/2014 - Case in transit.

08/21/2014 - INTERVIEW, APPROVED :dancing: :luv: :dance: :dance: :dance: :D

08/22/2014 - Visa issued

08/26/2014 - Visa in hand

NVC received our approved petition on 3/6, still no case number, Jim (at NVC) said ones received the week before have case numbers so it should be a week or so before they put us in the system. Can someone add to the spreadsheet? Oh and the link the the spreadsheet? Where's that at?

Just to be certain, are you referring to the part where you have to write the "total income" for your 3 years of tax returns? Or the section where it asks for your individual annual income (current)?

My question is the "My current individual annual income is:" - Part 6 - question 5 - form I864

Just called NVC and I have finally have a case number!!! So excited!! I already filled out the form to be updated on the spreadsheet, but for those of you keeping track so that you know if you are close to getting a case number, NVC received my case on March 27th.

What a sense of relief... there might actually be a light at the end of the tunnel :idea::dancing:

I thought so. In that case, you need report what you are earning right now, calculated for the entire year. This calculated amount will not necessarily match your income in your tax forms or your W-2's. That is why you also need to include paystubs for the past 6 months and/or a letter from your employer stating how much you make in a year.

They told me to write e-mail request to change an embassy and attached copy of my passport. I just know that it will take forever for them to read an e-mail :crying: It's sucks.
