Financially, a joint sponsor will be required. You'll need to explain why you haven't filed, just to avoid any questions/checklists about that. And don't forget proof of domicile. Saylin's wiki and other sources on this forum discuss that topic.

Yes, my sister has already agreed to be our joint sponsor. I plan on including a small letter with the AOS, saying why I didn't file for the past 3 years. For proof of domicile, I still use my parents' address for all of my bank/credit card statements and I also maintain my driver's license with that address. I'm pretty sure I might have my voter registration card with that address as well. I hope that will be sufficient. And yes, I have read through the wiki but sometimes it's better to discuss it with other people that are currently going through this process.

Some of us Canadians have very close timelines, and could possibly get interviews at the same time. Think we should wear nametags with our visa journey names to the interview so we can identify each other. LOL It would be nice to meet all those that have helped each other through this process.

I am the USC petitioner, living abroad in Mexico with my spouse. I don't have papers here to be able to work so I have had no income for the past 3 years and in turn, I have not filed US taxes for the past 3 years. My spouse is supporting me here. As long as we have a joint sponsor, will this be enough for us?

"Residence outside of the United States does not exempt U.S. citizens from filing a U.S. Federal income tax return. See "Filing Requirements" in the IRS Form 1040 FIling Instructions to determine whether you were required to file."

You will either have to backfile now or write a letter explaining why you did not file.

I got the case numbers a week ago and still can't do anything. What the heck is taking NVC so long?? I think they are getting behind again I hope we all hear some good news today!! COME ON NVC!!!!

LOL. Ya I know. I heard his name and thought of hanging up but wanted some info before I went to work. I should have hung up cuz now I will be worrying about all day at work. He has me very confused now.

Arthur hung up on my wife just as she was giving him the receipt #. She was furious and I thought if she had him again, she was going to bite his head off.

They seem to be slowing down at this time compared to previous timelines that I've seen

Thank you for posting that. I am not actually a resident here in Mexico. I am here with a tourist visa. As I originally stated, I have not worked in the past 3 years and that is the reason I have not filed taxes...I have zero income. The reason is not because I am living outside of the U.S.

Time to redo my AOS and get a new copy to England for the interview >.> I definitely had not planned on taking a new position prior to my husband moving here and getting situated in a job himself, but I guess life likes messing with people who think they have a plan

It has been 49 days since approval and NVC still hasn't received our case. Husband called USCIS and they say case has been sent. I called NVC on April 23 and a CSR who identified herself as Jenny told me it sometimes takes 8 weeks for them to receive a case. I asked her then how long it would be before a case number is assigned and she said probably a month, probably.

I think your husband needs to send the entire I-864 form not just page 4. Sending one page of the document is not acceptable! it will only delay you because you'll get another checklist!!!!!!!

i've read here a couple of times that you only need to resend the page where the correction is, not the entire i-864.

or maybe its just me overead everything and now my mind is hangin up..., got to reboot my head now, for all i thought we'll be having interview this june...

It'd be better to send the entire I-864 form again and them just needing the one page than just sending the one page and them needing the entire form

Yes I emailed IV docs again on the 17th the first time was april 4th. Arthur mentioned receiving that email on the 17th but stated my civil docs where not in that email and that I needed to send them in? I checked that 17th email and the civil docs where definetly in that email.

Well I bet you hear something before I do. If I were you I would call NVC to confirm that they received your AOS and DS-260 supporting docs. Without receiving an auto reply you have no way of knowing if they received them or not. And according to the emails I've received from NVC the emails state 20 business days from when you sent them to be reviewed. I would call to confirm there acceptance.

What part of MA are you headed for? I'm going south of Boston,to Fall River.

I have called on a daily bases in fact and they are unable to confirm receipt of the AOS or DS-260 supporting docs at this point.

I get the impression that when we call the good folks in the call center are only able to “see” eMail which has been acknowledged – Given that your AOS was acknowledged on the 17^th it becomes an available eMail of reference however given that our AOS and DS-260 supporting docs (IV package) were only eMailed on March 31^st and April 1^st and you indicate that they are still working on eMail received on March 27^th the call center has no record of eMail received subsequent to that date, which has not yet been acknowledged and thus not yet added to our case.

Your timeline indicates that your IV package was eMailed on April 4^th thus I imagine that it is in in the land of eMail purgatory with our documents until they are “acknowledged.”
