Thanks for the kind words. :). I just felt so terrible last night. This morning I went to the post office to find out why my package had not been delivered. The lady there called the post office in NH. The lady there said that they receive 3000 pieces of mail for the NVC per day. And HOPEFULLY my package will turn up today!!! OMG!!! I did get my money back at least but I'd rather have them have the package. Didn't care about the 20 bucks! I didn't even tell hubby the package is missing. Don't want him to worry anymore.

When I called on Friday to check if our case had been completed, the operator told me they'd just received 100,000 cases from USCIS and they're "busting their butts to get them done." I believe they're trying to get out all the old cases out before starting on new cases that's why we've been seeing so many case completions lately. Just my opinion. I hope and pray your case is found very soon. Good Luck to you.

They don't want the amounts from your W2, they want the amounts from your tax returns. Use adjusted gross income from the 1040EZ if you filed it, or total income from your 1040/other form.

Because I join tax with my husband, so the total income is not my individual income :(. It is the earned income-secondary in tax transcript? or what line in tax return? Thank you for your helps.

I petition my mom. I'm the US Citizen.

We had a similar issue with the joint sponsor and Saylin nicely gave us some answers. You need to put the total income (from the transcripts) and also send the From W2 to show your individual income. (we also put a letter to explain that the joint sponsor filed jointly with his wife but that his individual income are enough to fulfill the requirements as shown in the W2). Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting this. I went ahead and called the NVC, and got a very helpful operator who I walked through my situation and she gave me confirmation that I didn't need to do anything else except correct for my error in using adjusted gross income instead of total income.

She made it clear that if my wife was not going to be continuing in her current employment after immigrating, she has no need to report this through an I-864A and I need to just put my current individual income in Part 6. Item 5. and Item 10.

For Part 6. Item 13.a (as well as .b and .c), I just needed to input the total income as reported on my tax transcripts regardless if we filed jointly or not. She said the transcript was enough, and no individual W2s were needed. She said it was quite common, and they were used to it and didn't need any additional documentation.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get another checklist.

Handily it looks like someone has just quoted the answer after your post! You still need to provide the line from total income on your tax return for the I-864, but submit your W2s to show individual income.

Wow 100K cases? I hope that was not in one day??? That could explain the almost 6 week turn around time to get a case #. I know I waited 5 weeks to the day from the date the NVC recieved my case. Crossing my fingers I can get through the NVC stage fast. :)

If this has been asked before, pardon me. My wife is almost ready with her AOS package. She is an individual sponsor and has a state job.

She has included the following financial documents:

Tax returns of 2010, 2011, 2012

Pay stubs of Jan, Feb and March 2014.

Would these be sufficient to prove there financial status? She will well above the stipulated income level.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

Its so close to the April 15 filing date

why not take those 2013 W-2s and put them to good use.

File a paper return for 2013. Can be done quickly and not delay your AOS.

Ultimate Recommendation

Pay stubs Oct, Nov and Dec 2013 Jan, Feb and Mar 2014

Federal Tax Returns plus W-2s, Schedules ect for 2011, 2012 and 2013

Letter from Employer

Before interview go online IRS website and print out your tax transcripts.

These should already be available for your 2011 and 2012 returns.

Make sure your paper returns or transcripts say MFS or MFJ or HOH !!
