Spoke to Arthur this morning... He was fine... just needed another cup of coffee.

I asked about my husband's birth cert. He looked up some information for Costa Rica. He said as long as it is from the registry we should be fine.

and then threw out the "please wait 30 days for us to review your documents"

I know its only Tuesday..... Hopefully something this week or early next week before the end of the month !!! COME ON NVC.. HOOK ME UP !!!

I spoke to Aurthur the very first time I called NVC. It was about 2 weeks after I got approved and when I gave him my MSC # he asked how long it had been and I said 2 weeks and he freaked out! He said it's too soon! He told me do not call again until it has been a full 30 business days! I was almost afraid to call again. And everytime I called I would pray it wasn't him!! Lol!! That was the only time I got him. :)

Sigh ---- I received an email yesterday from the NVC which looked like a reply to an email I had sent approx. 1 month ago as it contained a request to find my Dad's AOS. Yesterday's email also stated the civil documents were incomplete and to follow the checklist blah blah. At first I thought it was generic, but I called. I think it was Kerry that I spoke to and she was really nice. She told me the Irish police certificates were missing for both parents and also my marriage certificate. She then looked further at my Dad's case and said that my birth certificate was missing and his marriage cert. The originals were all put in my Mum's case with a sticky note on the photocopy in my Dad's explaining where the original was. I also had a cover sheet with a table of contents indicating where the originals were located. Still, they couldn't follow these instructions. She went back and looked at my Mum's and said that she could immediately review for the missing birth cert and Dad's marriage cert as they were clearly there in my Mum's file.

Then she goes on to tell me I have to have an Irish police certificate for each parent. I once again launched into the spiel that they live in Northern Ireland which is part of Great Britain and they are not Irish, have never lived in Ireland and their embassy is London, so why would they need an Irish police certificate. Their passport states that they are British. Their birth certificates state they were born in N.Ireland. Their DS-260's state that their addresses are all N.Irish which is Great Britain!

Now once again we are under supervisor review to try and get this mess sorted out. I hope that they really haven't lost my marriage certificate. Its printed on two pages and has the embossed stamp at the bottom so I am wondering did they just miss the stamp and discharge it thinking it was a photocopy.

Now it has become a race to get case complete before the next round of interviews are given out.

ONG! Sounds like a real mess. I'm so sorry your going through this again. :(.

I was looking at the information from the Immigrant Visa Center in Paris where my husband will go for his interview and the Interview Preparation Instructions states that an interview will not be scheduled until the applicant fills out a DS-2001, signs it, and mails it in.

Does anyone else have to do this? These instructions were just modified in Sept. 2013 so it is pretty accurate. :help:

I don't even have a Case Complete and I promised myself I would wait for it before researching anything else, but I couldn't wait lol.

Its a good idea to magically disconnect the moment you hear his name.....

I changed it up a bit and called for updates in the evenings for while until I recovered from the Arthur Encounter.

Are you sure that's for spousal filers as opposed to K-1? To my knowledge it's only fiance visa filers who need to submit a notification of readiness form.

I had a similar issue, where the NVC wanted a police certificate for a country my life lived in for less than 12 months. They check listed her, and I made two calls.

The first operator, told me to send a letter back explaining the situation along with the cover page. Thankfully, the second operator said to not send anything and that she would have a supervisor review the issue.

Thankfully, it was dealt with and corrected within a few days. I know every day counts for most of us, but it was nice to not have to wait "30 business days".

I hope your issue is dealt with as fast if not faster than my police certificate mixup at the NVC.

I bet you they have a list of people who call all the time, just like Kaylara's list.

A list showing names and they share it amongst them the same way we do!

The water cooler conversations will be like:

A: Mr/Mrs X called today again!

B: Let me guess, they asked about bla bla bla

A: yeah, how do you know?

B: I just talked to them an hour ago

C: yeap, they are on the phone right now with D and she is pulling her hair

B: I called them Mr/Mrs Nasty Pants

We'd all be awesome answering the phones there. We've been through this stinkin process and we be able to sympathize with the callers and have a little compassion and understanding for what the callers are going through.

I think the attitude will change after answering the first thousand calls!

Remember, some callers are not as nice or educated on the process as we are (thanks to VJ).

Some of us can be nasty to them also!!!!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I just DIED laughing at work!

He was so-so today. He tried to cut me off but I asked another question and he started to look it up for me. I can see him being Mr. Nasty Pants.

Joy still wins the prize for Nastiness. I can only imagine their watercooler conversations about the people that call everyday !! LOL

I'll call later this afternoon too. I don't care. I paid the fees. Its their job to answer the phones. They are lucky there are people like us so they have a job. Right? I would be awesome at answering the phones over there.

Arthur can smell a newbie a mile away, so he pounces...

I'll bet his eyes get big when your screen comes up

showing the number of previous calls...(889 and counting)

I would love to stream that encounter live...Pay Per View......
