You did not mention about the IIN. I am hoping you asked them about Case # and also the IIN. Once you have both, you can log into CEAC website (do not ever wait for their emails) and check if you are able to fill in the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee. Once you have paid the AOS fee, and the money is taken from your bank account, you should be sending in the AOS package. Then in another week to two weeks you will be able to pay the IV fees (once the DS-261 is reviewed and approved). After submitting the IV fee it is time to send the IV package (yes you need copies of the applicant's/beneficiary pics) with this package.

Best wishes for a quick case complete.

Dang!!! I totally forgot to ask for the IIN.....Weeell here I go again, Thank you so much for the reminder Bkghosh!

The emails right now are sent as soon the fees are available for payment.

Somehow NVC picked up their game in that field!

All NVC needs to do now is reduce the time they take to review packets.

Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's true that most people don't bother to read instructions when they buy a TV. I think it may be easier and less time consuming to call a tech support when there is a problem. ;)

Well, I think you should read what's available multiple times if you want to immigrate to the US ASAP. It's your immigration case and it's up to you to make your immigration process a smooth one or with delays due to RFEs and checklists. :(

I've also read some people getting the wrong information here. Well, nobody is a legal professional here. There is also a chance that you get the wrong answer if people misunderstand your questions. I think you need to be an educated "consumer" in order to use this thread.

I've read Saylin's NVC Process, James's Shortcuts, LinChe's Shortcuts, and the last 200 pages of this thread! Lots of information! My head hurts big time! LOL!

Oh I agree and have already read Sayl (F) in's link four times but my head is spinning and with information about Egypt Embassy waiting times I just can't take having to read one more thing. I read every post here to grind it in my mind what is to be done and what not. I'm sure I'll still have questions but I'm trying the best I can. I just feel I can't catch my breath sometimes and wish someone would just step up and do all this for me free hahahahaa then I can try to catch up on my sleep which has been little and none. But I do agree with you it's our responsibility.

you don't need pictures of the petitioner. And you don't have to wait for instructions. I haven't received anything from the NVC so far.

and what we did for our pictures... The instructions say 2X2 passport style photos so my husband took a selfie and sent it to me through whatsapp. I sent it to my email and cropped it using the tool they have on their website. I sent it to Walmart online and had them delivered within 1 hour to our local store. The Walmart photo guy has a 2X2 passport photo cutter. So I just had him cut 8 for me. They turned out really great and I only spent like 4 bucks. I have extras for his interview too

I didn't want to spend the money for FedEx from Costa Rica.

LOL! I just realized that I put pictures for my husband and myself geez! Anyway I'm going to assume that he can probably just get taken some and get them put on a disc and email them to me and do the same thing you did and have the guy at Walmart cut them out for me. I don't blame you ####### its expensive to send anything from out of the States. Geez I freak every time my husband sends me anything from Colombia.

Got a little chuckle tonight when I got out of work. My AOS and DS-260 were approved today. I'm the one that's been doing all the leg work and paperwork for this process and keep trying to explain it to my husband who I think is getting tired of hearing about it.

So when I get out of work tonight I get a text message from him, and I quote " F***....we just received a checklist from NVC" I had to chuckle, as I knew this was coming. It was a false checklist for my IV docs, and I knew this before I even talked to him or checked our emails. If he'd just listen to me he wouldn't have freaked out. LOL. And sure enough when I got home and checked the email, that's exactly what it was. Made my day. He didn't think it was funny. He said he was going to listen to me from now on, guess it scared the poop out of him.

Xprecious, did you call NVC to find out that your AOS and DS-260 were accepted or did you get an email?

I'm really confused about the email thing - I gave NVC our emails when they gave me our case number and IIN. To this date, neither of us, NOR our attorney, has received ANY emails. Not when our invoices were available. Not when they received/scanned our AOS or IV packets.

I stayed on top of NVC and paid the invoices as soon as they were available. Should I be worried about not getting ANY emails? When do emails normally get sent?

You are a BAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD girl teasing your husband that way. Maybe he'll pay attention now! Hehehehe

I didn't wait for ENROLL acceptance before sending my AOS, and they received it and responded to it the same day I received ENROLL acceptance, there is no REAL proof of anything when it comes to NVC. There doesn't seem to be a right way or a wrong way. It took 3 weeks for them to receive ENROLL and reply, and almost 4 weeks to receive review and approve my AOS.

Did you ever wonder that if you had gotten the enroll properly accepted first it wouldn't have taken so long for the AOS?

I'm getting worried. Our AOS fee is still pending and the money in the bank hasn't cleared up yet too. :(

Essysita,

Debits from your bank account only happen on banking days. So...if you paid on Saturday, the NVC will not generate the request until Monday, which is the next banking day. Normally, the request will be presented to your bank on the First Business Day after you pay online, and the amount will be taken out in overnight processing. In your case, on Monday night, the request from NVC will be presented to your bank. IF your bank gets the request processed, the money will disappear from your account early Tuesday morning, meaning when you sign on Tuesday morning (usually after 6 a.m.), you should see the debit in your account. Your bank will send a notice to NVC saying "Here you go, NVC - here is your money." NVC then has to apply that notice to your case - which can sometimes take another 24 hours.

If you paid on Saturday, the EARLIEST you would see the "PAID" status at the NVC would be on Tuesday - and it might be on Wednesday.

See what happens tomorrow morning when you check your bank details.
