I personally chose to use snail mail... not sure it will save time, but it's saving me from the long wait for ENROLL acceptance and emailing/re-emailing my packages like some other Canadians ended up doing. I'll be the guinea pig statistics-wise for the point in time:)

I've decided to mail my documents to NVC instead of doing EP since potential risks are greater than benefits.

Thanks for being a guinea pig, Lakehouse! ^_^ I'm keeping an eye on your timeline!

Just now - I was checking the payment portal to see if the YIELD sign had gone away. I only check it about 6 or 8 times a day.. it was still there. MY QUESTION IS THIS. I have TWO applications one for my wife and one for my step-daughter and I just read on the payment portal and I quote;

" If you cannot pay fees online you must follow alternate payment instructions. Please note that the case cannot be processed further until the principal applicant's immigrant visa application processing fee has been paid. The fees for other applicants may be paid later but must be paid before they can receive a visa."

When they say fees for the OTHER applicants may be paid later- but must be paid before they can recieve a visa-- This is news to me, I thought I had to pay both and I probbaly still will - but I just wanted to know if anyone had any experrience in this area- when is LATER? and does that prolong the process even further? or would it simply be at the interview you can pay the additional fee for our daughter? she is a minor child-- our other daughter already has her USA passport and DUAL citizenship so that is not even a concern.. I am HOPING and PRAYING that our interview will be in JUNE and this NIGHTMARE will be over.

I want to say that I want to do whatever it is that makes this process faster - not slower- I was under the impression that we had no choice on when to pay our daughters fee- -- and it is not an issue actually - just a question.

I've seen a post that it takes them 20 days to review packages after EP acceptance. I'm trying to find the post.

Once you send the ENROLL email you have to stick with EP. They won't accept snail mail packages from you now.

EDIT: adding information about EP. You should wait for acceptance before sending them packages. It will be easier for them to retrieve and review!

I didn't wait for ENROLL acceptance before sending my AOS, and they received it and responded to it the same day I received ENROLL acceptance, there is no REAL proof of anything when it comes to NVC. There doesn't seem to be a right way or a wrong way. It took 3 weeks for them to receive ENROLL and reply, and almost 4 weeks to receive review and approve my AOS.

Congrats on getting a case number! No need to wait for their emails you can start in a couple days once CEAC is setup and ready to go with your case.

Only the beneficiary will have to send passport pics at this stage. I suggest you read and re-read the wiki linked in the first post of this thread.

'm glad I didn't wait for acceptance. I would have waited 3 weeks foe ENROLL acceptance and then would have waited another 4 weeks for AOS approval. Total 7 weeks. This way I saved myself 3 weeks of waiting. All I'm saying is I took the chance sending before getting ENROLL acceptance and it worked out in my favor. Good luck to all those doing EP.

And just so you know, I spoke to WALDO earlier today and mentioned that my email for AOS said 20 business to review and he said that that is incorrect, they've upped it to 30 business days because of the amount of emails being received. He told my he was letting his supervisor know that the wrong information is being sent to people.

I was getting the same message until I got an email from NVC telling me that the AoS fees are ready.

It takes up to a week from the day they assign a case #.

It is ok, don't panic!!!

One week to the dot for me! I had my case number assigned 15 April and AOS and IV fees became available for payment today! It's 22nd already where I am :)

Got a little chuckle tonight when I got out of work. My AOS and DS-260 were approved today. I'm the one that's been doing all the leg work and paperwork for this process and keep trying to explain it to my husband who I think is getting tired of hearing about it.

So when I get out of work tonight I get a text message from him, and I quote " F***....we just received a checklist from NVC" I had to chuckle, as I knew this was coming. It was a false checklist for my IV docs, and I knew this before I even talked to him or checked our emails. If he'd just listen to me he wouldn't have freaked out. LOL. And sure enough when I got home and checked the email, that's exactly what it was. Made my day. He didn't think it was funny. He said he was going to listen to me from now on, guess it scared the poop out of him.

You did not mention about the IIN. I am hoping you asked them about Case # and also the IIN. Once you have both, you can log into CEAC website (do not ever wait for their emails) and check if you are able to fill in the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee. Once you have paid the AOS fee, and the money is taken from your bank account, you should be sending in the AOS package. Then in another week to two weeks you will be able to pay the IV fees (once the DS-261 is reviewed and approved). After submitting the IV fee it is time to send the IV package (yes you need copies of the applicant's/beneficiary pics) with this package.

Best wishes for a quick case complete.

HECK YES!!! After being on hold for 1 hr and 12 minutes we have a case number!!!! :dancing: :joy:The gentleman said they just now got it into their system so for me to wait 10-20 days and that they will send me and email with instructions. My question is with me having my case number now what can I do and not do. I mean I have everything except the passport style pics for my husband and myself??

you don't need pictures of the petitioner. And you don't have to wait for instructions. I haven't received anything from the NVC so far.

and what we did for our pictures... The instructions say 2X2 passport style photos so my husband took a selfie and sent it to me through whatsapp. I sent it to my email and cropped it using the tool they have on their website. I sent it to Walmart online and had them delivered within 1 hour to our local store. The Walmart photo guy has a 2X2 passport photo cutter. So I just had him cut 8 for me. They turned out really great and I only spent like 4 bucks. I have extras for his interview too

I didn't want to spend the money for FedEx from Costa Rica.
