Thank you so much for that info! It makes it easier to remember lol. So when I did the math, the next 3 numbers following 2014 gave me the date in which my Case Number was assigned. So cool! It's nice to know these little details that most people wouldn't know if they weren't on VJ.

contemplate some on the ground logistics both pre and post interview.

The research never ends. One area of concern is that Bangkok does not allow

you to pick up your passport at the Embassy. In the interest of time and not wanting

my wife’s passport floating around the country for a week or two, I discovered that

You have the option to pick up your visa package the day it's issued at the local post office

that serves the Embassy. The package arrangements are made inside the Embassy compound.

Be sure to get a tracking number and receipt before you leave. This turns 1 or 2 weeks

of anxiety into 1 or 2 days of anticipation. If this is available at your Embassy it can

also greatly accelerate your travel plans

Sorry thought you where in the USA. The name on your Social Security would be your husbands name because you will get (fill out form) your SS when you

come to the USA. By then you will have your name change. Is there anything in the Philippines like say ID you can change your name to your husbands? You can send them a certified copy of that, I would think it's just as good or better. You can tell them or your husband that you are in the process of changing your name on your passport and will send that as soon as you can or show it at the Embassy.

One of the requirements for the IV packet it the photocopy of the passport. So I really do have to wait for it.

In Australia we are told to bring a pre-paid, self-addressed Express Post envelope (which is trackable) with us - and that we should get the passport, with visa, back in 3-5 days (depending on weekends). There is no Saturday mail delivery in Australia, which can be frustrating! Since we will have to fly to Sydney for the interview, we're hoping to spend a few days actually having FUN there. It will be early winter, most likely. I've always wanted to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb!

I have been calling NVC and checking email for the interview date..

I don't think my feet have touched the ground since " Case Complete "

My wife's roots run very deep in her home country both family and

spiritually so lifting her from the soil of Thailand and transplanting

her to the USA fully intact has become my focus and has required

a level of sensitivity to her family there that I had not imagined.

she said that your case might lost again if you keep calling them.

Every time you called to NVC, Rep has to pull up your case.

That's not how databases work. If we were still back in 1990, then she might be correct. But even then, even on the old AS/400 systems, that's really not how a database works.

The Netherlands also requires a pre-paid envelope.

Just talked to Visa Lisa and the NVC...( LOL) I think she has the monday morning blues....

I was just checking on my papers... got the "it takes 30 days to review" #######. I told her its just my regular Monday monring call.

Little does she know there is a regular call everyday... LOL or maybe she does know since they log the calls. Oh well... I paid the fee... they answer the phone... that's the way it works, right?

I believe that in Costa Rica you have to go back to the embassy and pick up the visa. There isn't really a good postal service there . I wouldn't trust it anyway. It could have changed in the last few years ....but I doubt it
