NVC Filers - April 2014

Question regrading civil documents:

Do I have to submit ORIGINAL civil documents (birth certifcate, marriage cert, Police cert etc) to NVC? or copies will be acceptable for now and my parents can take originals at the Interview in Mumbai, India.

My concern is that if I send Originals to NVC - what if they are lost??

I would appreciate reply from folks who have already gone thru the process.

Apparently NVC was just waiting for me to lose all hope, sit back and get comfortable before throwing us for a loop. Yesterday evening we received an email notification for a May 19 interview in London. We're very surprised, very excited, and also a bit stressed as we accelerate the timeline to get ready for the move I feel a little bad line jumping out of the June interview group, because I know how left behind I felt watching others do the same. I wish I could assign you all interview dates myself. The wait sucks, but you're so close to the end now. I can't wait to see each of you sharing your good news as it comes

Bit of a tangent here, but something I've been thinking about... with our interview date scheduled and everything suddenly so near at hand, I'm finding myself more and more in awe of the incredible sacrifices all the beneficiaries (or applicants, to use the NVC-appropriate term!) here are making for their spouses. I'm so full of love and appreciation for everything my husband is doing to bring our lives together, and I know many of the members here are bound to have even more difficult situations and transitions than we're expecting. I give you guys all the credit in the world. You're amazing. The love and commitment it takes to survive this process and THEN give up everything you've known in life except your spouse is incredible. I hope you all have wonderful, supportive, thankful partners, because you sure as heck deserve it.

I agree it's not easy to move away from everything you know to a new land and I also am thankful to my amazing husband for what he is doing for me. He never wanted to leave his country but is doing so for me. I am truly blessed by God.

So I got the official email for missing the last page for the I864. I sent another I 864 a few days after I sent the first one because I was worried about the blanks. Do u guys think I should send another one exactly the same as the first (with blanks) just in case?

All originals or certified copies must be sent to the NVC. If you choose you can get copies from the issuer, known as certified copies, and mail those instead. I've heard of ONE person ever having their originals lost. Chances are slim but it's not like an item is unobtainable again.

Photocopies or notarized copies are NOT acceptable.

She told me that I should call back on May 13th to find out my interview date. So I'm assuming that she figures that is when they will finish which June Scheduling.

I'm hoping we get one at the beginning of June. I'm so over this ####### today. I am missing my husband a lot today. This sucks.

I know it sucks waiting so long. But there's a light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel. Maybe there'll be a cancellation for May, and you can slide in. I'm hoping so hard for you that this is so!!!

Did you call USCIS and confirmed that your file has actually been shipped to NVC? Usually they will be able to tell you on the phone. Then you should call NVC to find out if and when they received it. After the receipt date they are now taking anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to assign a Case # and IIN. Sometimes sooner but usually close to the 4 week mark.

Yes and USCIS said they had sent it and NVC said they didn't have it yet but I did receive the below message today. At least you can say they are consistent in their inconsistency hahahahaa.

Does the status of the DS260 on the CEAC ever turn to ACCEPTED or does it just stay as Completed? Am I obsessing for nothing?

Ignore her and call back tomorrow for the invoice identification number Once you have the IIN you can start monitoring the CEAC portal, and probably within a week you'll see the DS-261 ready for you. Never wait for NVC's instructions, they'll cost you weeks.

Thanks for those beautiful words. I'm the beneficiary and I've been married for more than two years now. The last time I saw my husband was on our second anniversary in January. I have lived with my parents my whole life and it breaks my heart knowing that I'm going to have to leave them soon I knew this will happen eventually but only God knows how much I'm going to miss my family.

In the other hand... I miss my husband more than words can say and I'm happy we're finally going to be together soon!!! Everything in God's own time...

It's the South American way girl and I am the same, lived with my parents all my life and left only to marry my husband and it took two years to see them again. But Colombia isn't that far from the USA and just turn on your Skype put on some Cumbia's and dance. Also have them turn on Skype and leave it on so you feel your there with them and for them the same. It's amazing how much better you will feel. Good luck with the interview.

Oh I agree.... Can't wait to have him here so we can get on with our lives. We talk about how we just want the interview to be over so we can submit the waiver and only have that to wait for. All this craziness is just too much. I hope the waiver approvals pick up the pace. I really dread another 8 months wait.

I wonder how long it will take for them to give me the case complete.... I worry about the first AOS package and how fast the revision will get logged in.

When we were waiting for the approval from the TSC, I imagined myself calling him and screaming that we were approved. What actually happened was we had a fight that night on the phone but it ended fine. We hung up and I was half asleep at 10:15 while watching TV. I keep my phone next to me in bed so I can hear the alarm in the morning. So I received 2 text messages at 10:15pm and I remember thinking " Who the hell is texting me this late?" I looked at my phone and saw the emails telling me to check my status. I fumbled to the website and saw our approvals. I called my husband back and I couldn't even talk. He said HELLO, I said HI, he said WHATS WRONG ? ( because I just hung up 15 minutes before) I couldn't even speak... I said very quietly.... We are approved.... He said WHAT?? I said We are approved.... he said... say it again, I need to make sure I heard you correctly... LOL

Then the next day when we talked, the first thing he said to me before Hello was, " say it again please, I wanna hear it again" so cute !

so here we are at NVC. I didn't expect to go this fast. ( knock on wood) but we waited 11 months and 6 days at the USCIS . I am happy to be moving along

I agree with you 100%! my mind makes up scenarios also and I tend to believe them!

I remember I had a heated conversation over teh phone with JOY some I'm thinking may be she tagged my file and her friends at the NVC are punishing me for that! who knows???

I'm sure it is just crazy ideas but I can't help it!!!!!!

Who knows but I plan to tell her how beautiful her voice is and does she sing professionally and thank you for being so sweet and making this difficult time easy.
