I am going to Montreal to be with my husband for the interview. Is it better for me to stay at the hotel or go into the interview with him. I am super nervous but don't want him to mess anything up paperwork wise.

If your going all the way there I would go to the interview if I were you. It wil show moral support and a bona fide marriage. If there's any question, the pull out the tats! Lol! I wish I could be there for the interview with my hubby. Good luck! :)

Good morning everyone...I'm new on this thread, just got my approval a couple of days ago....now trying to get all the information so I can go forward with the process....I have a question..in the IV package says that I must send birth, marriage and police records as well as 2 passport pictures , now the question is...I'm petitioning for my wife and two children, do I have to send their pictures and birth certificates as well?, I did send those in the original package, except my wifes birth certificates, I did sent the marriage certificate, but I'm a little confuse if i have to send them again...

Hello, the difference is that USCIS only asks for simple photocopies of the documents, unless their instructions specifically ask for an original document. NVC, on the other hand, wants all documents to be originals or official copies certified by the respective government agency that issues them.

Read it a couple of times to get familiar with all the steps, then save it in your favorites and review each specific section as your case moves along, so you know what to do for the next step. Trust me, it will help you tons.

It depends on whether or not the Consulate in Montreal will allow you to attend the interview with him. Check with the Canadians to see if the USC is allowed to accompany the beneficiary!

Hi Guys ,

I am realy stressed out right now, just finish speaking to NVC regarding the checklist i recieved on that it says that my joint sponser does not meet the requirement to file the i-864 form. He is retired since 2011 and he made 39000$ last year on his social security and he has wife , his income is way over the poverty guidelines for household size 3 but since he is retired NVC represntative says that he does not meet the requirement...

just wanna know if this is true that retired person cannot sponsor anyone even though his social security income is well over the povery guidelines

Any help on this would be really helpfull

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Is there an age limit for the co-sponsor?

Double check the numbers that you typed in. If you think there is no error call NVC to get your case number and IIN again.

I called NVC and the invoice # was incorrect...one extra number :bonk:

I checked but is not ready yet for payment.

Quick question for all , PLZ : in IV package , im sending my ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATES . Do i need to enclose certified copy of it too ? as we already send originals i wonder why to send a photocopy too...but it is written like that at NVC guides here at forum . I dont mind if they keep originals.

They request a photocopy so that when you come to the interview, they can give your originals back to you and just keep the photocopy on file.

What about blank spaces in aos? Instruction says to leave blank spaces - if not applicable but some people get checklists because they leave that spaces blank. Is someone there who eaved blank spaces and didn't get checklist?
