Ok.. Im confused! Filling in the DS-260 as we speak and I have reached the Work/Education section.

Fill in the present occupation section, which I did and the next question is do you have any other occupation? Which is no, Im currectly only working at one place.

Clicked on next page which is additional Work/education and the only thing it is asking for is if I have ever served in the militatry.

I have been reading on here that they require employment history for the last 10 years.. but for the life of me.. there is nothing on the DS-260 for me to fill in the information.

Has anything changed that I am not aware of??

This has only been mentioned once on this thread that I remember and no one picked up on it or responded to it.

It seems to be an issue on their end that does not effect everyone. The +add additional that was available in the

previous address section is missing in the Education and or Work Section. This may or may not be an issue

depending on the consulate. Prepare this information and have it available for the interview should it be required.

I honestly feel like I have the worst experience ever with immigration! 22 days and still my case hasn't been sent! How are people with cases approved way after me and their's have been received by NVC? What kind of system is this?

Everywhere I call they tell me I need to wait and be patient!

Well, i am happy for everyone with case complete...the worst is over.

Hoping for better news.

SO, If I didn't put 10 years employment history for my husband on the DS260, will they kick it back? Or can we just give them the information at the interview? Im pissed because NOW its the mistakes the attorney made and now the employment thing. #######??? I'm guessing the employment thing woudn't be such an issue if the AOS package was correct,,,, I went from happy to sad in 2 seconds when I realized we didn't go back 10 years...

Question regarding Police certificate:

My wife is from Hong Kong and they are real a-holes about the police certificate. They will not authorize one without a written letter explicitly from the US government stating that the police certificate is necessary along with my wife's name. On top of that they will not give us the certificate. They will only mail it to the consulate. (Maybe the NVC center in US but I am not sure on that.)

All my research says the only thing I can do is send in the IV package without it and wait for the NVC to send me a letter stating it is missing. But of course this is going to delay my case by 6 weeks. I read other people's experience stating the NVC no longer offers letters to people prior. However sense the HK gov will not give it to me, how do I tell the NVC that it is going to show up at the consulate? Can I get them to arrange the interview without it the file so when the PC is sent to the HK consulate they know what to do with it?

Anyone have this experience in HK or another gov with similar strict rules around the PC?

Dear GPCovenant,

Hong Kong is NOT the only country that does this. I have my Australian "green card" equivalent, and I had to get letters for both Hong Kong and Japan before I could initiate my clearances. In addition, the two states of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia will not send the beneficiary the Police Report - it gets sent directly to the Sydney Consulate.

My spouse has already sent her IV packet directly to the NVC without the Police Clearance. We are using an attorney, and she also didn't question the fact that the Police Clearance was not there.

I'm pretty sure the NVC understands which countries don't send beneficiaries the clearances. You will, most likely, be instructed to get your clearance when you receive your Interview packet, and the HK US Consulate will be waiting for it. If I remember correctly, it did not take very long to get the clearance.

I was able to go to the Hong Kong police office in Admiralty to get my clearance, as I was currently living in Hong Kong at the time I applied for Australian residency.

Called NVC just now after reading Changnoi's case complete message and guess what, we got a CASE COMPLETE as of yesterday. Woo hooo!!!

Me and my hubby :dancing::dancing:

Further to my previous update, got a checklist dated April 15th, asking for Passport Police Certificate. i am so confused. Is this a false checklist?

______10 - PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE:____________________________
Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:
• All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police
certificates from the local Passport Office.
• Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their
local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.
• Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District
Police Station serving their area of residence.
• Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying
outside India.
As a NON- Indian residing in India, I submitted the original Police certificate obtained from the District Police station serving my area of residence. What else do they want? arghhhh!

Thanks Changnoi.. I'll just submit it as is and have a list of previous employment and educational institutes with me at the interview. Hopefully it wont cause any issues.

And congrats!

hey Lakehouse! it's employment-based, so I didn't fill in a timeline because it's a slightly different process and i figured it might be confusing to others. I have no AOS stage. mine goes directly from case number to IV payment and then to DS-260 and IV packet submission.

also, I am not sure if they have a completely different queue for employment-based cases, as opposed to family-based cases, so I am not sure how helpful my information is. I have only shared info on steps that seem to be identical to both categories.

You should still fill in a timeline and help others going through the E-3 visa process. The timeline isn't to help the IR-1/CR-1 applicants, but others of your own visa type. It would help greatly.

An update on my case,

1) Made a STUPID mistake on my AOS. I put the wrong number for "Current" income and had to resend my I-864EZ to fix that.

2) Got a checklist on IV package for a PCC and "Original" divorce decree. I already called NVC and told them that the Divorce Decree I sent is the original and I dont have another one. I really hope they accept this as I have no clue what to do if they say it isnt the original. Getting anything from my wife's ex-husband is out of the question. Very much praying they accept the documents we sent. Regarding the PCC, they said we dont have to send it to NVC, we can just bring it to the interview in Mumbai :)

Hopefully they can review my AOS response soon (should have arrived on the Monday the 14th) and accept the Divorce Decree, that should complete my case.

Yes, I believe this is the screen you saw after you completed current work. It only asks about military and gives

no option to input Work / Education history. Once you complete all available portions of the form you will be able

to save it and submit it as complete. Once everything else is accepted you will get Case Complete. It is then in

the hands of the Consulate and any additional information if required can be provided at the interview.
