May I ask what the E-3 visa is for? And in peeking at your profile and timeline to figure it out, I notice you don't have a timeline. Could I encourage you to fill it in?

hey Lakehouse! it's employment-based, so I didn't fill in a timeline because it's a slightly different process and i figured it might be confusing to others. I have no AOS stage. mine goes directly from case number to IV payment and then to DS-260 and IV packet submission.

also, I am not sure if they have a completely different queue for employment-based cases, as opposed to family-based cases, so I am not sure how helpful my information is. I have only shared info on steps that seem to be identical to both categories.

Just called NVC and was told they received my case yesterday 4/14, got approved 4/1..so not bad at all !! Can time pass by any faster? ?

where was your case approved from? Mine was approved at CSC same day, april 1st, hopefully they received my approval by now..

I have one query here regarding the NVC process.

If we don't ring the NVC to get a case number does that mean we will not be allocated a case number?

No, it means you would be waiting a very long time before receiving a case number.

Your correct, my friends husband from India came to the US this way and only took about four months from start to finish.

quick question, I'm drafting a cover letter for my wife's IV package and notice that in the example found in the VJ tutorials, the letter is written and signed as if the Beneficiary is sending package. Is this necessary or can i just write at the top of the letter "Enclosed please find the supporting documents for the DS-260 for my wife, xxxx, as follows" and then sign the letter myself?

Ok.. Im confused! Filling in the DS-260 as we speak and I have reached the Work/Education section.

Fill in the present occupation section, which I did and the next question is do you have any other occupation? Which is no, Im currectly only working at one place.

Clicked on next page which is additional Work/education and the only thing it is asking for is if I have ever served in the militatry.

I have been reading on here that they require employment history for the last 10 years.. but for the life of me.. there is nothing on the DS-260 for me to fill in the information.

Has anything changed that I am not aware of??

Will the NVC send us an instruction on what to do next?

CASE COMPLETE 4-14-2014 Thanks to Saylin I made it through NVC in 32 days from Case # to Case Complete.

Call the NVC! It will probably take a week or two for them to receive your case from USCIS, but you will need to call to see if they have.. I wouldn't wait for them, it's quicker to call and you can actually find out stuff from the NVC, rather than USCIS..! About now, it's taking 20-30 business days to receive a case # as well. But keep calling! Read the Wiki on NVC for info and all questions are usually answered in the Wiki as well .

Congrats on your I-130 approval and getting away from the USCIS..!
