Timeline

I was playing around with the "received by NVC" data on the spreadsheet out of curiosity since I know a lot of you are waiting. Looking at 2014 cases that do not have case completes, the following are average wait times between NOA2 and NVC receiving case:

Texas

22.5 days

Nebraska

17.5 days

California

11 days

Whatever CSC is doing, can the other service centers please do the same? Worth noting the more recent case entries for NSC and TSC are more like ~2 weeks to being received... just trying to soothe the fears out there that cases are being lost ;)

It's been 26 days since the notice said they shipped the petition to NVC. I beat the awful Texas average. Nebraska has been bad luck for me. It sat on my petition 3 months after transfer and then it was an RFE and it took another month for the approval. I am going to call again tomorrow. I am tempted to call now, but it's like 12:30 a.m. here and I don't want to be on line for a long time. I told my husband to ask the lawyer find out whether the case was actually shipped or not. If by tomorrow my husband doesn't tell the lawyer or the lawyer does nothing, I am going to send a fax to Nebraska.

CASE WAS COMPLETED LAST NIGHT AND I WAS GIVEN MY HUSBAND'S INTERVIEW DATE ABOUT AN HOUR AGO. THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP.

Yay, congratulations!

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.

When we got the NOA2 hard copy, it stated that the petition was approved and that they sent the original visa petition to NVC. The notice date is March 6. If it was sent on March 6, then why hasn't it reached NVC yet? I see from your signature that you got the case number, congratulations. Which case number is it, I-130 or K-1?

But did they send you a text message and separate email stating they shipped your case?

I got the approval text on the 18th of March, then I got the shipped text on the 21st. I don't have a case number yet..

I called this morning and they didn't have it yet.. then I called a little after 12 noon and the woman told me they just received it. Soooo, I'll have to badger them tonight to see if it was entered. I have more faith in the NVC than I did in the USCIS. If they are all working OT then maybe it will get a case number very soon. I didn't ask about my I-130. I was told they get received differently. K3's fly out the door because they don't get processed there. The I-130s take longer because its a different process. They can take as long as they want with the I-130.

I feel bad for DVman from the April thread. He and I had almost identical timelines... same service center. He was approved 2 weeks before me but TSC held on to his case and didn't ship it until a few days ago. I wish he would hang out on this thread.

I wish etrangais's K3 would get sent to the Moroccan embassy. NVC is holding on to it too long.

Jumping up and down for NoelAnne !! I hope she gets an interview soon ! YAY K3

I found this thread about tracking your file to the embassy. I did it back in 2009 but the number sequences might have changed since then.

When I find out my K3 left the NVC I'll be trying it out. If anyone else can find a better tool, please post it !

No, they never sent any text or e-mail saying they shipped the case. The only place where they talk of shipping the case is on the NOA2 hard copy. I did ask around whether everyone gets text and e-mail notifications of case being shipped and I came to know that not everyone gets those notifications. Seeing that even you didn't have the case number in the morning, but got it after noon even I am extremely tempted to make that call now, but I will resist. Hopefully, tomorrow they will have good news for me.

Hello, i have a few questions about AOS.

My Mother in law is my co sponsor, i believe that she needs to provide my husbands birth certificate as a proof of relationship. Does it need to be original or it can be a photo-copy?

On my husbands birth certificate she has a different surname from previous marriage. Is this going to be a problem?

Does she needs to provide more documents like drivers licence scan to proof the same residence as my husband?

Does he need to provide his copy as well?

I read on some immigration page that you need to write your case number on each page of AOS...but i can not find it in instructions. Is this info up to date?

Thank you

Hey can you update yourself on the case complete interview spreadsheet. Great news so many waiting to see who is getting dates. Now it looks like they may have started.

Spread sheet is on my signature and form also. Thank you.

Ok, I'm soooo technically challenged lol. I don't think my computer is compatible or something. I tried entering my info on the last column but wasn't to. Would you mind entering it for me?

I was actually calling the nvc for something totally different but she asked if she could interrupt me before I finished my sentence and she told me my husband's interview date....guess she thought it was the reason I was calling but I was so happy I forgot the question I had in the first place

im confuse with this maybe that Im not reading it in the right way! but if the guide says certifies copies that means i can send the same certified copy with the apostille thing that I sent for the I-130 like my birth certificate and marriage certificate ! what I am understanding here is that I can't send any copy because I will get a check list :( help Im in my 5 min spanish zone lol ! if i can't send the same copies i sent for my I-130 then that means i need to get original ones and translate them again and pay for it again and everything :/ help -_-

I GOT MY NOA2 HARD COPY TODAY WOHOO :) HOPEFULLY APRIL IS A BETTER MONTH FOR US :dancing::dancing:

This is from my notes during the time I was preparing mine. Hope it helps :)
