Called NVC and case isn't there yet

Called uscis and spoke to IO and was told to be patient and that they don't like to be rushed. Once my file is sent NVC will contact me.

19 days and counting. I requested an inquiry and it's probably going to take 2 weeks. It seemed like uscis and NVC love me way too much. There are holding on to the file until they hit their max time.

What to do? Should I make an infopass appointment? My file is at the local office and it's three hours away from where I live.

I am stressed and angry!

Congrats xxxmichy , I saw your post and decided to call and got CC. Thank you for posting, I was so nervous but you gave me hope :) I am not hoping for May b/c the rep told me that they are done scheduling May interview. Anyway, I will take June :)

yay! congrats to you too! I dont really have plans to call because im afraid i might get a not-so-good update again on my case but decided to give it a try and was really happy i did. uhm, i think it all depends on the embassy, maybe Manila Embassy is not yet done scheduling May Interviews thats why the rep told me that they are still working for it. Im still hoping that i'd get a May Interview, but early June isnt bad at all :) Goodluck.

I'm sending in the amended AOS today, does anyone have any experience with sending in a correction before its reviewed and checklisted? I don't want to waste anymore time and my lawyer is pissing me off . I don't need his signature since I'm sending it in myself and I will include an explanation with the amendment about how the lawyer used the worng dollar amount . 1040 and tax transcript will also be included even though they already have the transcript in the original package.

Hi new to this group. Our I130 was approved on April 10th 2014. Does anyone here now how quickly it moves on from here. We have an attorney in the USA helping us but he charges everytime we ask a question. Here is where we are at:

IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Date

USCIS:

Service Center : Nebraska Service Center

Consulate : London, England

I-130:

09-14-2013: Marriage

10-04-2013: I-130 NOA1

03-2014: Transfer date to NSC

04-10-2014: I-130 Shipped to NVC

NVC:

: I-130 received at NVC

04-10-2014: I-130 Case # and IIN assigned

04-xx- 2014: DS261 available and completed

You should probably limit the amount of questions you ask your lawyer then since he charges for every question

It took me approximately 5 weeks to receive a Case Number. The wait is not fun, however, after receiving a Case Number the process has been pretty quick.

Make sure you read Saylin's wiki before posting questions. I have read it like 7 times and sometimes I still ask questions she has posted on her wiki  oops...

Good luck!

So I was looking at the receipt I received for the IV Fees and it says that unless my case number begins with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL that I must submit the paper version of the DS-260.

I was always under the impression that it was submitted online. Did I miss understand something or are they submitting the wrong directions with the receipt? Not very good for people who are not familiar with VJ. They even provide a link to the DS-230, which now I think doesn't exist.

I am still waiting for my paid IV Fee to finish processing so I haven't seen anything else available when I log into the portal.

Thanks!

Okay, so I'm updating my I-864 for my husband to carry to his interview in May. I was in India the first time I submitted, but have no re-domiciled to the US. So I am updating that part.

But my question is in the income. I just got hired in a temporary position for the next 6 months, I start in a few days. I will change the status to "currently employed as:....." But then what do I do for current individual income? I just have an employment letter and form stating my rate of pay. It is only an hourly position as it is a temporary position. Should I just calculate my hourly rate times 40hr week times 4 weeks times 6 months?

Or do I fill it out based on my status in 2013 since those are the taxes I just recently filed?

Thanks for the help!

I know another member just in the past month or so had success sending a revised AOS prior to receiving a checklist, but I can't remember who it was. Hopefully they'll pop in and let you know! I seem to remember it barely being a setback at all, though.

So I was looking at the receipt I received for the IV Fees and it says that unless my case number begins with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL that I must submit the paper version of the DS-260.

They haven't updated their instructions yet, but no worries, you'll be doing the online DS-260. It'll become available once the fee shows as PAID on CEAC.

NVC mentioned that in IV pkg. one should send - Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate and benificiary birth certificate.

I will get them certified from attorney in India and gona send these pkg from India. Do my husband need to get them again certified from US Gov?

reply pls asap..

You can mail the whole IV package from India directly to NVC. Make sure the bar coded cover page is on the top of the package. Use DHL. They will deliver it in 2 ~ 3 days from India. Make sure you track it. Also, include all the necessary documents in one IV civil documents package (in other words do not send them multiple IV package). Check the first post (NVC Guide) to double check what you need to include.

Everyone submits the DS-260 (and DS-261) online. Some countries submit the documents (AOS package and IV package) online. I do not think your country is one of those countries. So you will be sending the AOS and IV packages by mail - USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL etc.

I was told I have a checklist on my AOS but haven't received an email or hard copy about it yet. I went ahead and sent out the revised AOS. Just make sure to include the AOS cover sheet and a detailed cover letter and I think you'll be okay. (my revised AOS just arrived today at NVC)
