So, my husband and I were unpacking some stuff and found this (empty) manila folder he created at the beginning of our immigration journey:

Oh, lovely memories

Hahaha! And you created, what, a three ring binder full? ;) Your husband is lucky he married a brilliant lady who handled all the legwork, lol.

Quick Question-

Does the DS-260 have to be completed and submitted online in order to receive a Case Complete or does it just have to be completed before the interview?

I think you are confusing DS260 and DS261.

DS261 is the choice of agent and address and you had to do that before the IV fee was invoiced and paid (unless you have an attorney, then DS261 is not needed).

For the DS260 (IV application) you have to do it online. The case will not be complete until the DS260 is submitted, reviewed and approved.

Good luck

Hi all!

Last Thursday I called NVC to check status.

And the agent told me my wife's case is completed! Yay~

I asked her when will the interview be scheduled, she said we'll be notified by email, etc.

My wife and daughter went to Korea in Jan. and I'm missing them. I was going to visit soon.

I wonder how long it takes to get the visa interview or if I can check the status.

Cheers.

Not a binder, but a huge folder. You can see a picture of it on this blog post of mine: http://journeythroughimmigration.blogspot.com/2011/05/interview-tomorrow.html

And my husband actually created that manila envelope I posted. Nothing ever went in it :P

Tabbed dividers <3 When I was a kid my favorite part of back to school shopping was buying office supplies  Putting together the document packages for the visa was oddly satisfying. Cute engagement photos btw :) I hope you guys are settling into your new home well!

Haha, omg, me too! I always loved back to school shopping! I weirdly miss it!

And those pictures were from the day we got married ;) (You can't tell in those specific photos, but we wore World of Warcraft shirts to our "wedding" [we got married in a courtroom with just his mom and grandma present]) Thanks though :)

And we're settling in our new apartment quite nicely. Just unpacked a bunch more this afternoon actually. We can now get into our third bedroom finally! (It used to just be a bunch of boxes placed haphazardly everywhere).

Wedding, even better! I'm on my cell and can't view websites properly, I also couldn't tell if your hair there is red or orange, lol. Glad the unpacking is going well, haphazard boxes are definitely a rite of passage for any new living space. It's nice to be able to access all your rooms, but you're running out of time to build a box fort, haha ^_^

I can relate to the unpacking part. I recently moved to a new place and its taking me ages to unpack those boxes.

Does NVC accept Laminated Marriage Original copy from India?

I think they don't accept laminated certificates. You may want to get a certified(not notarized) or another original certificate.

It was pink actually (with blue lowlights in the back), lol ;) Went to my visa interview like that :D Sadly, it only lasted a few weeks, so by the time I finally moved to the US, it was already starting to turn blonde, with shades of orange, pink, blue, and green

And probably should have kept a few boxes for the eventual kitty we're (finally) going to get. No box fort for me :P

Good grief, I was way off! At least you were festive for POE :D

Future kitty would be eternally grateful if you reserved a box. How exciting you get to add a new furry little member to the household :) I've been in my current place for two years now, and my favorite part of moving here was adopting my cat literally the day I moved in. I had no furniture and most of my possessions were still in boxes, but dang it, I finally had a cat. I hope you can get your fuzzball soon, and share pics! :)
