BOS_LHR, and others who are waiting for their interview call!!! The second round of interview scheduling happened as expected today!!!!

I got my date for 5/22!!!! I can't believe it, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting huge.

Non-issue. The consulate it is going to sees that birth certificate all the time. NVC doesn't approve anything, just checks correct and completed.

Trust me people, you'd rather have issues with the NVC and their 30 business days than with your consulate or embassy where a correction could take MONTHS!

I received an email from NSC this morning, reply to my email sent to them almost month ago (Mar 13)

Good morning,

USCIS records indicate your I-130 case was approved on March 27, 2014. A USCIS notice regarding this decision was sent to the address of record on March 28, 2014. Your case and all supporting documents were forwarded to the Department of State (DOS) National Visa Center (NVC) on April 7, 2014 for VISA processing. Therefore, if you have questions, concerns, or find it necessary to make changes or corrections to your case, you may contact NVC at:

In this email, NSC said that my case and all supporting documents were forwarded to NVC on April 7. On April 7, I called NVC and they said my case has been arrived at their office but not entering to system yet. Where is the truth?

NVC will take 4 to 6 weeks to enter your case into their system and will be able to give you a Case # and IIN. Maybe after 2 weeks you should start calling them to find out if the Case# is available. Meanwhile, why not enter your info in the form so it goes into the spreadsheet that Ms Saylin is maintaining (read post 1 in this thread).

BTW you have a beautiful baby. Our love to her.

Also, India birth certificate her birthdate is like Date/Month/year. (03/12/1991)

In USA we have Month/Date/Year. ( 12/03/1991)

Is it okay to have this complicated date in BC?

hi,i have the same format in my birth certificate dd/mm/yyyy so when it comes to filling US documents i use the format mm/dd/yyyy and no complications at all.

Hence using your example it becomes 12/03/1991

I know NVC will takes 4-6 weeks to enter cases to system. The funny thing is NSC said case was forwarded to NVC on APRIL 7. NVC confirmed to me case was received on April 7 that is the day NSC shipped out my case??????????(the date in an email I received today). And I got another message from NSC on April 1 and my case status now is "

On April 1, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

That made my confused .........

your case probably got put in the batch to be sent to the NVC on the 1st. The 7th is probably when the batches were actually sent. They send batches at all different times. whenever they want.. it might be weekly, bi-weekly every few days.. who knows. NVC receives mail all day long... if you call in the morning and your case isn't there yet, you should call again in the evening.

We were lucky... it only took 11 days for our case to be received and assigned a case number. Getting a case number the same day really helped us fly through.

Hi. Can we schedule an interview date prior to getting a case complete status?

The embassy only wants an appointment letter and DS260 confirmation.. We completed our DS 260 on the 8th.

because it can take 30 days for them to enter it and assign a case number

While you are there could you kindly stamp "case complete" on my packets.

They will be easy to spot. They have the expedite fee clipped on top
