Also you do not include the beneficiary in the section 6.

Read thoroughly and interpret literally:

"Income you are using from any other person who was counted in your household size [...]"

So if the person HAD no income, you are not including it and don't put their name there.

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. We just had our case completed by NVC and should get the notice in the next couple of weeks. Do you know how long it takes for them to schedule the interview? If all goes well, do you know if I get the immigration package instantly at the end of the interview? (We are applying for a family based visa) Thanks for your help!

Yay! Good for you... What a relief!

Well, sort of... It depends on how competent your lawyer is. Some people find that the lawyer doesn't work as fast as we would so the time savings is negated.

In addition to copying the amount on line 5 onto line 10, it seems like 6a,b, and c could be referring to your spouse, the applicant. After all, they will be included in your household size. Then their income would be 0 or "none" and in question 12, you would check the box for "this person is the primary applicant" and then write their name.

Please read the post above, form NRL

You must not put your spouse on part 6. 6.a, b, c

These should be "none" because spouse foreign income is none

Ivy, I'm so glad you are finally here at the NVC!

Sukie

Hey, Sukie! It's nice to see you again!

I believe they can be sent in one package as long as they are clearly marked AOS and IV - I am sure someone on VJ can offer some guidance here. I sent mine as two packages because I got my AOS one done first. I fretted over sending my IV package as it contained my original birth cert and marriage cert which I am just so annoyed about sending but I had no choice unfortunately.

I figured, since I will be sending them from abroad, save on shipping and do one. Mental noting that we need to clearly mark them, no problem. I do not mind waiting a bit to pay both things if it cuts down significantly on cost of shipping.

I am not sure if anyone already responded. Then this might be a duplicate. Assigning someone as Agent is optional. Normally the beneficiary (overseas) assigns the petitioner (in US). But you do not have to. And also you do not have to mail the documents (AOS and IV packages) from a US address. They can be mailed from overseas, just fine. Use a reliable shipper like DHL etc.

After you give NVC the two email addresses (Petitioner and Beneficiary) they will be sending everything by email to both of you. As far as I can tell there are no snail mails.

Another point. Once you receive your Case # and IIN, you do not even have to wait to receive their emails. You just log in to the CEAC website and complete the business there (DS261, Paying AOS fees, then later Paying IV fees, DS260). The payment of these two fees must come out of US bank accounts. But that can be done from overseas, too.

Best wishes on the arrival of your baby. This is certainly an excellent news.

If I misspoke on any of this, I would like someone to correct me, please.

I got a couple of answers already, but I appreciate you taking the time to answer as well. Hearing things from multiple sources helps me calm down about the whole thing and memorize what to do. We will try to do this as fast as possible since I would LOVE to be able to get a late June interview date. I doubt we will make it though :(
