NVC Filers - April 2014

Just spoke with another NVC lady. I told her the number on the I864 was the same as the number on my 1040 (I don't have my 1040, but how could it be different??). She said I need to send in another copy of my tax transcripts and I864 and highlight so they see it's the same. #######??!!

I asked if maybe they were confused because it's a negative number. She said that could be something so I also need to send in a letter explaining why it's negative. Isn't that their freaking job?

So basically NVC ###### over my case and I need to send in a letter explaining it to them. Because they're so freaking useless they can't figure ###### out on their own.

DANG, this happened to you with your ridiculous RFE regarding your marriage license. You should be paid for putting up with Stupid !!!

That happened to me also. I read the thread on my phone but you can't like anything from it so when I'm on the computer I go back and like stuff all at once. And I got the message that said I reached my daily quota. ?????

I was double triple quadriple checking for I-864 (Aos) and found 2 huge mistakes.

PDF partially auto entered my gross income for years 2010 and 2011. The numbers were off.

Don't trust yourself after you fill out and print your docs! go back and double check EVERYTHING you entered! you never! 5 minutes now will save you weeks of hassle later.

on April 2 they told me they shipped it then I got a letter saying they shipped it on the 10th of April. I wonder if now they're trying to slow down the case flow to the NVC and I just called she said to wait 30 days and when I called before and spoke with a lady I said I do reading from VJ she then said do not read from there lol..

Cause they're annoyed at all the people that call them. Before VJ, people waited patiently at home for the NVC to contact them instead of filling up the call lines all the time.

I know right! With the IV packet I put a post it note where it said date and time it was registered, just in case these people are as stupid as the last ones. Which they are proving to be.

So I think I'm going to change the employment part (part 6) to "unemployed" Before I had written I'm employed, the name of the school and in parenthesis (Costa Rica) so they understood I was employed in CR. Because my tax transcripts reflect I've been employed abroad. But maybe I just need to write "unemployed" and they'll get it?

I just saw your signature... i was hopping that maybe you'll make it with K3. My interview was scheduled for April 17, you know already is canceled, yesterday i received hard copy from NVC with the same instruction my husband received by mail on March 18. To good that we sturted with CR-1 otherwise it would be huge disappointment a week before interview. Now new battle with NVC...

When I read how many times ppl have called I do wonder if it does slow a case down and I dont think they like a place to help us. We all have waited so long and I dont blame ppl for calling we all want to move on with are life and not be stuck in limbo. when I think of how much longer it will take I just want to cry. But I know I am not the only one they need to see this as a place we not only get help from but we all need to vent. praying we all move forward at a good speed.

You don't need to wait for an email. As suggested, read the wiki to find out how to move through the process quickly without waiting for NVC to send you anything. The emails will arrive after you've already acted on something lol.

Koekoe, I'm not sure any of us can say what NVC will do with this. I, myself, would have no problems with it, but unfortunately, it will probably depend upon the person who reviews your file. As far as your sending a letter with an explanation, that sounds like a good idea to me. But you might also wish to wait to see if the file gets through without any problems without your letter - but have the letter ready to send.

I do not think (my opinion only) it will be a problem at the Consulate in Myanmar, as the people there will have full understanding of your written language and how it is translated into Roman characters.

The only problem I see with sending a letter with your packet is that someone may then force you to get a "corrected" translation to match the birth certificate. But if you DON'T send a letter and they discover the discrepancy, then you would get a checklist.

Just to let you know - in my case, I was born in Germany, and I have always written the state of my birth as "Rheinland-Pfalz", which is, of course, the German. This is how I typed it into my AOS form. I found out that this is usually translated into English as "Rhineland-Palatinate". I'm not going to worry about it, as the person who is reviewing my file won't know the difference!!!!!

We attached copy of form 1040 for year 2013 taxes as Tax Transcripts were not available at the time of emailing AOS support documents. However on our i864 the income for year 2013 is not total gross income but adjusted gross income. We have not received a checklist yet (emailed documents on April 2nd). We do have Tax Transcripts available now hence should we just email corrected i864 with right attachments or wait for a checklist.

Please advise.

Well, if you filed a 1040, you were supposed to use total income, not adjusted gross income. You can wait and see if they catch it or not (sometimes they don't), but if you want to be preemptive, yes, you can send the 2013 tax transcripts as well as a corrected I-864.
