Grrrr. Just called NVC and got a checklist for my AOS. They said my income for 2012 was wrong, even though I know I checked it like a million times to make sure I put total income for the 1040! Problem is I'm looking at the copy of my tax transcript and I just now noticed the freaking lady at the copy place didn't copy the backside of the paper, so I don't have the info to look at!

The NVC lady said you can't take "total income" off of the tax transcript, it has to come from the 1040. Which is weird, how could it be different? So now I'm trying to call my mom to see if she has a copy of my 1040, because I don't have it here in CR with me.

Also said I have a checklist for "proof of employment" when I obviously stated that I LIVE ABROAD and so it won't count. NVC lady said I need to send in a note saying "I didn't include proof of employment because I don't work in the USA"

Grr.

Actually, in India only Mumbai Consulate and Delhi Embassy process immigrant visa. The other consulates do not. Mumbai serves part of the country, Delhi serves the rest of the country. The lists of medical facilities and doctors are also seperate.

This actually would be very inconvenient as the beneficiary would have to travel to Mumbai at least twice. Once for Medical and then again for the interview.

When my wife got the PCC from the Kolkata RPO, it was not in any sealed envelope.

You misunderstand what I mean. ONLY Montreal in all of Canada processes immigrant visa interviews and only Vancouver and Montreal process non-immigrant (Vancouver covers the "western" provinces and territories and Montreal covers the "eastern." There is also a consulate in Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Quebec City, and Halifax and an embassy in Ottawa.

You can go to ANY panel physican in all of Canada and their package is good for either consulate for non-immigrant or Montreal for immigrant visas.

Looking at the Mumbai consulate and New Dehli embassy, they seem to want certain panel physicians vs using ones that are good for the entire country. The original poster of the question can either do one of two things, IMO; either change their number, which they should if that's where they live, or inquire with the consulate if they can use a panel physician that is closer to them and approved for the New Dehli embassy. It doesn't hurt to ask.

what is BIN?

I assume it stands for Beneficary Identification number? what is it good for?

nothing anymore.

Last year only some countries did online forms and you needed the BIN to do it. Since Sept 2013, everyone does online forms and it's not required.

I got my transcript online and compared to my I864, I wrote total income! It's just that total income and adjusted gross are the same number. How could it possibly be the wrong number??

So... You're responsible for their #### ups? No, I think not. It's not like they haven't had like a year to get this ###### together ahead of time. He would sign the part that asks about the form preparer. If he prepared it and filed out the rest of the stuff, then you will probably get a checklist for that signature. Luckily, all you have to do is sign a copy, have them sign a copy, and resend it after you get the check list (for the coversheet.) And no offense, but it'll probably still be faster, even with you responding to that check list, than just waiting for the NVC to contact you.

If I were you, I'd have them just take care of the waiver, and let you deal with the NVC. They're just slowing you down at this point. And blaming you for their screw up is 100% ridiculous.

You can also send in a new AOS with the signature. You do not have to wait for the checklist.

Correct. I completely agree. The only problem is the US consulates/embassy are not very prompt in responding to email and/or picking up the phone. At least not in India.

Yes...that is my feeling also...they seemed to have picked up the pace considerably....

on my IV packet they have every original civil document known to man translated into 5 regional dialects..... :D

so I am believing that it will be soon. On another subject, I am thinking of flying to LAX for my first leg.

they have so many nice options to Thailand from there and great prices.
