I called the NVC on March 7, I think it was...and was told by a very nice lady that the Case Complete was actually on 3/5.

The next thing we got was the email of 3/10 saying that they'd "completed the domestic processing" and gave in the same email the interview date of 4/15.

I was stunned and happy, because I'd expected it to take longer to get an interview. 4 more days to go to the interview...!

Hi Saylin

I have a quick question regarding the I-864. I would really appreciate your help.

Basically my wife has just filed a 1040x to amend her status to Married filing separatley. The 1040x only lets you put your adjusted income amount but on the 1-864 we used total income as shown on my wifes 1040. Do you think this would cause a problem at the interview. The CO will have a copy of her original 2013 tax return which shows the gross income and the numbers are not changing. It's just that the 1040X does not let you put total income anywhere only adjusted. I will of course present it as a whole along with the original 1040 and explain that it is only the filing status that has changed.

Thanks so much

You should be fine. If any number needs to be changed, they can do it right there at the interview. Just bring copies of everything (original 1040, amended 1040, and if you can get it in time, the tax return transcript).

Thanks Saylin. I doubt we will be able to get the transcript for the 1040x in time but we have the transcript for the 1040.

Do you think I should hand over the amended return without the CO asking for it? He may not even care that it says single. I'm torn between just having it in my folder and keeping it in there unless he mentions the single status, or handing it over to him/her at the beginning voluntarily.

Thanks!

Hmm, I'd say in your case, going through the UK (low fraud country), just keep it in your folder and only hand it over if they bring up the filing status.

Just got off the phone with NVC, IIN is available but Han (very nice operator, not sure if I heard his name correctly though) told me AOS is not ready for payment yet and it will tell me that the case is for termination but is not true at all. I told him that I wouldn't take the number yet because I will not be able to control myself and check CEAC, that made him laugh. He told me to give it another 2-3 days and call again mid of next week.

Hey Saylin,

How is your new job going? Is the new place treating you good ?

Anyway, maybe I am overthing this, but I have a question about AOS :/

Question: on AOS my income is met for a family of 4 (me, spouse, son, and mom or dad--two who are immigration )

I am sponsoring both of my parents, differnt cases, differnt files.....but they will go for their interview togeather

Now, will the CO look at my income for 5 ppl or 4?
