Unless you have a lawyer, the first thing is the DS261 (choice of address and agent).

The emails are usualy 3 to 4 days late, So i would be checking the web site to ensure I'm not wasting time.

Wasted more than enough time at the USCIS and NVC stages so far!!!

Actually, I do have a lawyer! :) The NVC person told me that the next step for them is to e-mail the IV invoice to my lawyer with a copy to my personal e-mail address, which they already had on file from my petition and which he verified with me on the phone. (I don't get to do the AOS stuff cause I am in a different category)

I am really happy, but if I were in your category, I'd be like bouncing off the walls with happiness, right now!! :)

hello all

i made a mistake on ds 260 online form for my dady

i realized i made mistake when i filled out my mom form

my family have three words on name

say ABC

last name is fine i wrote down C

but for given name i wrote down A only thinking that given name is first name

then i found out that i have to add middle name on the given name too

what should do??

it gonna be delay in my process?

i don't know how to tell dady on it

i am so so sad. please help me if anyone know how to fix it or have that kind of experience and over come with it

please reply me . thanks.

same, i did some mistakes too on my ds-260. I was told by NVC officers and VJ Experts that i could correct it at my interview, just inform the consul officer about the correction. I also talked to some immigrants who experienced the same problem with us and they told me it wont cause any delay or denial and that i will be fine because its not a big deal at all. Just tell your daddy about the correction.

Hello,

I am still waiting for my I-130 to be approved, but I am trying to be pro-active and get all the paperwork for IV and AOS package ready.

I am the beneficiary and will be going through Montreal consulate as I am in Canada, if and when my paperwork moves along. I did read Saylin amazing info on the NVC process for montreal. I have two questions about the AOS package and IV packages.

1) I checked that it is NOT NECESSARY TO DO ELECTRONIC PROCESSING (EP) yet. You can choose to do it. Has it changed to becoming mandatory for beneficiaries applying through Canada? If not and you can still choose to do paper-application, is the EP faster/slower/or doesn't make a difference in processing time through NVC?

2) So i lived in the USA for a number of years before coming back to Canada. Do I need to get a PCC (police clearance certificate/ FBI) from USA?? My guess is NO, but I am trying to find it out. Or do i need to get the PCC from all other countries and not from USA?

I hope someone can answer these questions.

Thanks

N

Hi Guys,

Do you send an original I-864 to NVC or a copy and just bring an original to the interview? (I see that some send original and some copies)

And if you don't have a tax transcript, what exactly do you need to sent to NVC besides pay stabs and employment letter? Do you send in: tax form and W-2 or something else?

Thanks

If not the transcripts, send in all worksheets and forms that were used to do the taxes.

As for the 864 original vs copy question, clearly the 864 form especially the page with the date and signature need to be original, but everything else ie tax forms and proof of citizenship are essentially copies. Perhaps discussions about people who file electronically added to your confusion on the issue? As they don't send anything original as it's all scanned and emailed.:)

if anyone is still waiting for a case number, I received mine today! NVC had received my petition on March 10.

Congrats!!

We got our CASE COMplete monday april 7. when do you think i will be notified about the interview or when should I call?

You could consider joining dwheels' Case complete thread, as I bet they have some helpful information for you there:)

Finally got my case # and IIN.

Let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hip hip horray!!!

How long does it take for D261 to be available once teh case # is assigned?

Mine was available the day after receiving our case number, but our AOS fee space is still completely blank.

Case Complete this morning!

I'm so happy for you!!

I called and got a case number but they wouldn't give me a invoice ID number :(, i gave them my email ID.

Call again soon and it should be ready.

Thanks

N

Good for you on researching:)

I have decided NOT to do EP, as there have been a few recent possible glitches slowing things down. We'll pay and send it snail mail:)

And you do not need a USA PCC, just any other country.

Good luck!!
