hmmm, maybe now they realize I was right the whole time???? OMG they better correct the error...

Are you sure you needed a lawyer for this process?

Apparently NVC was just waiting for me to lose all hope, sit back and get comfortable before throwing us for a loop. Yesterday evening we received an email notification for a May 19 interview in Londo

Have just checked CEAC and my 130 file is in transit to the embassy in London!! It will take 2 days for it to arrive. Hubby has submitted the 260. Didn't have to pay the IV fee, yet. So you could say filing the 129 has helped my case to be expedited!!

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

I'm hoping to get everything done by end of April! hoping for a june interview!!!!!

well, if my lawyer sends out the packages today, we are hoping to be done by the end of April too. And if CR gives me a June interview, I plan on begging for a May slot !! My husband said he only needs a week to get the medical, labs and xray. The police cert takes only a day.

I have given up hope on a case complete anytime this week or this month or for a may interview. this is very depressing. I am due in June 12, and the damn government would like to make all illegal immirgrants legal before uniting legally born citizens with their foreign born spouses. What a messed up system!

I'm hoping for the same thing!

If we get delayed in the process and end up with with a Julu interview, I'll beg the embassy to move it to June!

How long does it take for D261 to be available once teh case # is assigned?

Edit: did you get the IIN (Invoice Identification number) also?

I called after you shared your info and actually I got a case number also.

I did ask and they provided the IIN but they could not take the beneficiary's email address. They said the case was not fully in the system yet.

I was able to log-in into ceac.state.gov but could not do much since it is not ready yet.

Hopefully later on today!

I can't afford to waste anytime anymore! I'll be on top of the web site!!!!!

I think she was surprised that I knew so much about the process as I just asked her about the electronic processing emails and confirmations.

Police certificate does not take a day. I wrote a full thread on our experience getting the police certificate here.

I hired a lawyer in February, and I realized a month later that he was the problem for my case being delayed. In all honesty, the people here on Visajourney know so much more than lawyers after what I've been going through and what I've been reading. My AOS got sent back because he filled it out wrong, AND filled out the corrected one wrong. I did the DS-260 myself and fixed the AOS myself and nothing else has been sent back. I also did the I-130 myself and no problem. All of us should open up a law firm.

I got my case # this morning! so hopefully you'll get yours sometime today!

call them again in couple of hours and hopefully your case # and IIN will be ready then.

Haha nice work! I called them back and they gave me the invoice number, as well. They said they'll send an invoice e-mail in the next 5 days. Not sure if I'll be able to pay the fee before I get the e-mail, but I'll try. :)
