We have a problem

We jsut got out our interview date, and I looked at her medical records finally, and it has one vaccination missing (its not checked at all) Rubella.

Well, she had her proof of Rubella but I guess said Doctor did not check it, and so I guess it is 'incomplete'

Few things here. She is pregnant and you can not get Rubella whiel pregnant, because it will abort the baby.

I called USCIS. This fell on deaf ears. They didnt care, said she needed 693.

So I called Civil Surgeon, and they said "550 dollars for a new exam" REally? 550 more on top of this, and they said "we must give teh rubella"

I must be missing something here. Is USCIS andCS both claiming they must abort the baby so that we can do this green card application?

There should be a few civil surgeons around your area. Call around to get the best price for I-693 exam.

If your wife has proof of Rubella vaccine before, then she won't need one during her pregnancy.

sure she has it, she has all of her records still, and all USSR citizens were required by law to have it done before the age of 7.

however, it is in Russian, so I suppose finding a Russian Speaking doctor to translate it for us, so that it can be applied to the 693 is what it will take.

Should not need a new exam if the K-1 medical was done within a year of filing for AOS. You need to find a civil surgeon that will transcribe the vaccinations onto the I-693 without insisting on a new exam.

actually, if you use the words 'Vaccination Record Transcription" and explain it carefully, it seems to 'sink in' better.

Funny part for us, is that we ended up finally finding the Health Department in Chattanooga understood us best. price was $20
