London is a bit different.

I am still worried that they may just cancel my interview and tell me to proceed with the I-130 route. Have you gone forward with your NVC requirements or are you just concentrating on the K3?

Yes, unfortunately I have to wait for embassy to schedule the interview. Good luck with yours. Great to see some K3s getting through. I'm still nervous that the embassy will cancel it! Hopefully I'll get my date this week.

Yes, I have to wait. The notice on ceac says 'READY'' and to wait to receive an interview date from the embassy. Ugh.

This afternoon I received an email from the embassy in London informing me that as I have an approved i130 they have asked the NVC to forward my case to them and for me to submit the ds260. I have to inform them when that has been done. They will then schedule an immigrant visa interview appointment when it has been received and processed. So I'm now back on the cr1 route! Hope the NVC send that file ASAP!

Good luck to all! Our i130 got approved quickly enough that they didn't bother approving the 129f so we're bound for Montreal eventually... Hope you get through quickly, on whichever path!

Woot!!

Remember your spouse will need to send the I-864 for the spousal interview, not the I-134!!

I am so glad I found this thread!

I filed I-130 and I-129 F together for my husband PD 10/1....an was approved for both on 4/11.

I have also been married a long time- 10 years to my husband and we have a son.

I JUST read another thread about a 6 month !?!?!?! wait at least to get an interview at the American Embassy in Egypt after case complete at the NVC for the I-130. Oh my goodness- 6 months just to get the interview?

So now I am thinking maybe to proceed with the K3? How do you schedule a K3 interview? Do we call up the embassy in Egypt? Because if the wait for a K3 interview is shorter, maybe it's a better idea. I am thinking for the I-130 2-3 months at NVC, then another say 6 months waiting for an interview? Another month until it happens most likely and then what if somehow for any reason my husband is put into AP (I doubt it because he was a previous green card holder...but stil).

Anyone have any advice?

Well your petitions (both of them) go to NVC and you will get a case#. The I-129F usually get in and out pretty fast so you need to be calling NVC now and keep calling until you get interview.

Than you need to follow your countries embassy instructions (click on portal and than Consular information to get your information hat you need to do). this is if they don't close the I-129F.

However that 4 to 8 month wait pertains to I-129F (K1 and K3) also. many October filers of K1 are just getting interviews this month so whatever you go for unfortunately you still have the embassy wait and there are alot in the queue ahead of you.

Thanks for the information! Yes, I'm going to have to call NVC today to see if they got the cases and what is going on. I am also wondering if NVC will choose to close the K3 or not, but on their website it talks about which paperwork arrives at the NVC first and it seems since mine were approved on the same day, they'd probably be sent and arrive to NVC on the same day. So I'm not sure how they'll determine if the K3 will be closed or not.

Do you have stats on anyone that was approved/went forward with the K3 at the US embassy in Egypt specifically? The thing is, it seems to me very few people are either approved or go ahead with the K3, so I am wondering if there's any hard facts on how long it's taking to get an interview there in particular. If I'm not mistake, K3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so maybe the wait time for an interview would be different than an immigrant visa? I just don't know.
