Immigrant Visa Filing Fee

Has anyone paid this fee yet? We created an account and paid the fee but when we check the "case status" of it, it says "Your application/petition has been accepted and is pending review." Is this because my husband hasn't entered the US yet? Does he need to bring a copy of this to the POE? Has anyone filed this and can tell me their experience?

He does not need to bring a copy. His entry will trigger the change from pending to whatever. Entry triggers card production. Nothing between now and entry will change anything in this regard.

I just checked mine my wife entered the 18th the file says case received Feb 27th makes me mad I paided the 15th status says GC produced but still waiting hope next week

There is a thread I originally started in the general immigration forum about the ELIS and immigrant visa fee.

You can pay the fee before or after the immigrant arrives in the USA.

Before they arrive:

pay fee

POE with immigrant visa package

Package sent to USCIS by CBP

Package matched up with your file

Green card produced

Green card arrives in mail 1-3 months (normally) after arrival.

After they arrive:

POE with immigrant visa package

package sent to USCIS by CBP

pay fee

package and file matched together

green card produced

green card arrives 1-3 months (normally sooner vs later) after fee is paid.
