If anyone can pull off big Gov't, it is Putin.

Would Obama do that unscripted?

Actually racism is a belief that ALL members of each race posses some characteristic that is specific to their race. The belief that one race can be superior or inferior to others based on that characteristic or ability.

What this woman did was try to take the heat off of herself, she did not claim her race as superior or another race as inferior.

She made it look as if racism was the motive for the crime but that does not make her actions racist.

I have never been comfortable with using the term 'racist' to define all racial bigotry. A true racist, IMO, is someone who believes their race is superior or that other races are inferior. I suppose you can draw that conclusion from their intolerance towards other ethnicities, but bigotry and intolerance exists in all of us, to one degree or another.

He is so manly. No surprise some have a crush on him... Freudian is it not?

I know I do.... I thought about sending him a note on his website to tell him how I feel, I just don't know it that will run afoul of the new law over there?

Can't one be intolerant without being a racist?

Suppose an Asian man in San Fran just does not like Whites all that much so he avoids them..... does that make him a racist even though "supremacy" is not the issue?

We all get along with or enjoy the company of some groups of people better than others, does that make us racist if those groups are a different race or culture?

Since the definition of Racist seems to be all over the place mine is more more alined with "supremacy" in regards to rights and worth.

I don't see how people can honestly say for much longer that certain groups are not "on average" better at certain things than other groups.

Your kids might have different talents and natural abilities but no parent bases the rights or worth of their kids off of their talent pool.

Accepting our evolutionary variances should not be misconstrued as racism.... even though it would fit some definitions... to do so only shackles science to a social construct.

The research in DNA alone will answer these questions shortly.

Yes. When most people nowadays talk about racism, it's mostly racial bigotry. However, there's a lot closet racists - they can't seem to see the pattern of their discontent toward a particular group of individuals as anything deeper.

Because nobody was ever racist towards whites.

I think you're confusing racist with racism. There's a big difference.

Won't someone think of the whites? Won't someone sing their song?

Oh you poor little victim you.

That's what I thought. You can talk a good talk about wanting racial equality, but in the end this is just about advantages for minorities. If this were really about equality, then anti white racism would be just as serious as any other type of racism.

And your thought would be wrong. Racist and racist are two completely different entities. I'll break it down for you:

rac·ist
noun
noun: racist; plural noun: racists
1.
a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
Now with this I can agree with you. Anyone can be a racist. It knows no boundaries. Now, let's take a look at racism:
Racism is actions, practices or beliefs, or social or political systems that consider different races to be ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities. It may also hold that members of different races should be treated differently.
This affects people as a whole. It's the reason why when folks use reverse discrimination, it's usually some minority using a slur against a white person. Which is racist, not racism.
In order for it to be racism, you(white people) have to be kept out of something that's exclusive to me(black people). If your livelihood was dependent on a job, and you're weren't hired because of the color of your skin, that's racism. If you were denied service at a restaurant ran by a minority group, that's racism. This would mean the system is against you and for us.
If you want, please share stories where white people are disenfranchised. And I'll gladly show my outrage because injustice is injustice. The only case I can think of would be the CBC, and I've made my point on that loud and clear.

I don't see anti-white racism here, but then again I can't watch the video (like a good lib, I go on VJ at work). Was there a direct (erroneous) accusation that a white person did this? Or are we inserting "white" into the lacuna here? Are only white people supposed to dislike Asian people?

Where is the advantage for minorities -- that their accusations, both true and false, are taken more seriously when they involve racial crimes? I don't for one moment deny that there are anti-white crimes that exist, but this isn't one. This is an opportunist who played on anti-Asian sentiment which is not confined to white people alone.

But seriously, if you cannot see that white people (in general) have a privileged position in American society, and that they systematically reap the benefits of that privilege whether they actively seek it or not, then really, I'm not even going to try. As someone who is both white and Hispanic, I understand how to work both to my advantage. I play the white card far, far more frequently. The Hispanic one is, frankly, not worth nearly as much in middle class America.
