Interview at Montreal Conuslate sponsoring spouse's presence good or bad?

Hello,

After a long wait our case is complete and I am now waiting for my interview at the Montreal Consulate. At the time of interview is my wife's (who is sponsoring me) presense going to be an advantage or disadvantage in relation to the interview at the consulate? Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

My daughter (K-2) and I (K-1) didn't interview at Montreal (we interviewed in Vancouver), but I think both consulates in Canada are fairly similar.

My fiance was with me for my interview, but he was the only fiance there on that day. The other people who were there for their K-1 interviews did not have their fiances there, and they were all approved as well.

So, I don't believe it's necessary for the fiance to attend the interview, but I was thankful for the morale support!!!!

If she wants to be there, and you can afford the trip, go for it if you wish. I personally don't think it's any advantage, as many people interview by themselves, but a number of couples were together for the interview on the day I went for mine. Not sure how many questions your wife will be asked.

my husband came with us to Montreal...he sat in the waiting room the whole time..it was good to have the support there though

I went by myself. Good for support, but in terms of getting the visa, no real advantage. The interview itself takes only minutes in Mtl (normally) I was in and out of the interview in not more than 5 minutes, and most of that was the interviewer going over the paperwork. Was the easist part of the whole process.

I went with hubby to his interview. They let me go in with him and even asked me a couple of questions. They interviewer was extremely friendly and nice. Hard to say whether or not it made a difference, but it seemed to help.
