Hi everyone, I am the petitioner and I was wondering if anyone on here has filled out the DS-160 online form, and if you can please give me a step-by-step process in how to fill it out?

Well I am not asking how to fill out the obvious ones like name, address, etc., but the ones that are K-1 Fiance(e) Visa related questions that my fiance will be able to understand and answer.

Also, are there any other important documents/info we need in order to fill out the rest of the form? I appreciate the help and thanks in advance!! :)

K-1 Visa Timeline:

11-20-2013: I-129F application sent to Dallas Lockbox

11-29-2013: NOA1 received via both text and e-mail. Case sent to California Service Center.

12-05-2013: NOA1 hard copy received

12-09-2013: "Alien registration number assigned" (according to the case status online)

01-09-2014: NOA2, petition approved via online status (41 days after NOA1)

01-13-2014: NOA2 hard copy received

01-29-2014: Fiance received letter in regards to assembling Packet 3 (Seems like the NVC touched and forward the case)

01-31-2014: Received hard copy from Dept. of State/NVC about Packet 3. Case number assigned.

02-26-2014: Took a 2 weeks vacation together with family for our little engagement celebration

03-28-2014: Finally gathered all necessary documents from the beneficiary's end

04-07-2014: Packet 4 received with interview date

04-28-2014: Medical examination

05-06-2014: Interview - Approved!!

There are a lot of questions on ds-160 so you need start to fil out and if you dont understans specific questions so you ask.

It is easy fil out the form, you answer and continue to next page, you can save the form form one month before summit.

You need have in hand the beneficiary passport.

And the uscis number, you will need that in one moment while fil out.

When you start the application will receive a code, with that code you can open the saved application before sumit, just in case that you take severals days to complete it.

Make sure to have a digital copy of a passport photo as well.. I got mine done at a local foto studio and they emailed me the photo in the correct size and all. I also immediatly 4 hardcopys as you will need 2 for your medical in amsterdam and then another 2 for the interview.

After we returned packet 3 I received packet 4 within 5 days and my appointment data was for only 4 weeks later. 2 weeks from now :)

18th Nov 2013 - Mailed K-1 visa application

22th Nov 2013 - Received NOA1 (with official receipt date of 20th Nov 2013 on the petition) from TSC

3rd March 2014 - Received NOA2 through email notification (101 days after NOA1)

10th March 2014 - Received hardcopy NOA2

12th March 2014 - Case shipped from TSC to NVC, notification through email

21st March 2014 - Received Case number from NVC after calling them

24th March 2014 - Case shipped to Amsterdam Consulate "in transit"

26th March 2014 - Case status changed to arrived "Ready"

26th March 2014 - Received packet 3 through mail, after contacting them through email

27th March 2014 - Returned Packet 3

3rd of April2014 - Received Packet 4 via post with interview data ( they dont give this information through email)

11th of April 2014 - Medical appointment

24th of April 2014 - Interview date - APPROVED!

2nd of May 2014 - Received Passport back in the mail

19th of May 2014 - MOVED! POE Atlanta - Never been faster through customs, no lines and it took the officer about 10 minutes to process my papers. Very friendly.

June 10th 2014 - Applied for SSN - They could not find me in the system yet, but the lady was very friendly and said she would process it later and call me in case she needed any more information or would foresee any delay past 2 weeks she would call me.

June 16th 2014 - Received my SSN

June 16th 2014 - Got our marriage licence - Although they said I did not need a SSN in case I had not received it yet. We called ahead.

June 27th 2014- Got Married!

Adjustment of Status

July 23rd 2014 - Applied for Adjustment of Status (Inc EAD / AP)

August 8th 2014 - NOA1

August 11th 2014 - Requested Expedite processing on AP

August 18th 2014 - Received appointment letter Biometrics Appointment

August 19th 2014 - Expedite request completed - AP approved and produced

August 28th 2014 - Biometics appointment

October 2014 - AoS Approved

January 29th 2015 - Green Card Received

Lifting Conditions

November 4th - Applied for Removal of Conditions

November 16th - NOA1

December 6th - Biometrics Appointment

Thanks for the heads up! My fiance got it under control now after I reminded him so many time about these things :content: Also good news, I just found out today that he will be having his interview in Amsterdam on May 6!!

Wow, I can't believe this K-1 Visa phase is almost coming to an end, so wish us luck!!
