You can talk sh!t when you've actually got any substance to your conspiracy theory that immigration reform is really about increasing the voting base for the Democratic Party.

Since math doesn't seem to be your strong point, I'll post a picture for you.

Correlation does not equal causation. As car ownership in the US has increased, the number of people going to clown college has decreased. Does this mean that car owners kill clowns?

Or could it be that voters whose families are treated as second class citizens even when they are born citizens don't vote for a party whose members keep sticking their feet in their mouth re: revealing themselves to be giant racists? I can't imagine why Latino voters would vote for a party whose members have expressed discriminatory views towards anyone who isn't a middle aged or older white man. Can you?

One would think that this is really easy to understand.

One would think that this is really easy to understand.

It mustn't be, though. It must be really, really, really hard! Otherwise, why would people be claiming that the Dems need to import their voter base? So it must be super duper really a lot hard. Like, discovering that black holes don't have event horizons hard!

Correlation does not equal causation.

If I was a political party, and a certain demographic voted for my party more than my opponents party by 51 percentage points, I'd definitely look into:

a. Keeping them happy

b. increasing their numbers

In the immigration reform deal, it's a win win for the Democrats. They'd be absolutely stupid not to push for amnesty. The only downside is pi$$ing off their union base which is becoming more and more irrelevant every year.

Just because they may not identify with the republican party, doesn't mean they'll come out and vote for the Democrats either. It'll take an issue they care about to get them to polls.

The Republicans aren't much better (probably worse actually) running around thumping their bibles, and telling people how they ought to live. I'm sure if there were some demographic they could pander to with some law to gain more voters, they'd do it too.

I didn't feel the need to address your silly comparisons to clowns and cars since they're not relevant to the conversation.

The silly comparison was something called an illustration.

I'll concede that it's definitely useful to the Democrats to increase numbers, but would also point out that maybe a better policy for the Republicans would be not being gibbering racists?

I guess you're missing the point. They don't NEED to import their voter base, but why not do it? I'm sure the republicans would do the same thing if they had somewhere to import their base from. I hear there's some conservative areas in Western Australia. Maybe they should look into that.

If the Republicans were any kind of smart, they'd be letting Albertan Canadians in in droves. We've got way too many neocons in this country and we'd LOVE to send some south.

Yeah I thought about that after I posted. We have enough square heads in this country already.

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe anyone on this website could hold the biases that are contained in the language choices here.

You do realize that the white majority in North America, however tenuous its grip on majority status may be, is the result of institutionalized racism and cultural imperialism? This land was STOLEN from people of colour and the US, especially, was built on the backs of slave labour performed by people of colour.

The implication in your words of white superiority is disgusting. I really hope that English is your second language and you do not realize the implications of some of the phrasing that you use, but I doubt that, somehow. I suspect that it's intentional, to let us all know that you are indeed a white supremacist.

Since you are new here I assume from your slurs you don't know that personally insulting members is a big no-no.

It's best to formulate a cogent argument than try to use classless insults to fill your void.

-The land known as America was Stolen but long before whites stumbled onto it. Study indian history and you will find Indian nations stealing the land from each other for many centuries…. we know of no cases where one tribe actually paid another to gain access as whites did. Yes it was an imperfect concept but nothing new ever goes off without a hitch.

Are you aware of any Indian tribes having displaced another and gave compensation (without end)?

You used the term Supremacist…. yet one wonders if holding whites to a higher standard than other groups is not suspect of such leanings.

So, what you're saying is, you're for diversity as long as the status quo doesn't change?

Sounds a little like those Black neighborhoods fighting against similar change.

By the way has the Congressional Black caucus discovered the value of diversity in their membership or are they still rejecting any Non-Black no matter how much they share their goals?

I was purposely trying to avoid bringing up the sexuality of the so-called parents until Danno brought it up, because now it'll be 'Why did you bring sexuality into this? I didn't, I just shared the article, but now that you've brought up the topic, homosexuals shouldn't have children!'

It disgusts me that the sexuality of the 'parents' would be up for discussion or mention at all. Child abuse is the single worst thing I can think of short of mass murder outside of a war zone. To deny any child the resources he or she needs in order to grow and flourish is horrific, whether by neglect or malice. I wish that adoptive families were subject to greater scrutiny and I wish that biological families were subject to scrutiny at all. It horrifies me that any two people who can make an innie and an outie get together can have custody of children and no one has the right to check up on them at regular or irregular intervals to ensure the home environment is safe for children.

It horrifies me that someone thinks the government (you didn't say government, but I can't really think of another group that would be less horrifying) has the right to regularly inspect my home, just because I chose to have children.

Danno couldn't put in his own commentary in the title, so he had to find ONE that included their sexual orientation  Because that's the key part of the story here. They're a lesbian couple. Not just a couple.
