Woman Calls Pentecostal Pastor a Predator

By JACK BOUBOUSHIAN

CHICAGO (CN) - A Pentecostal church knew its pastor sexually abused minors but kept him on even after his wife divorced him for it, an alleged victim claims in court.

The plaintiff claims Pentecostal Tabernacle Bible Church Pastor Christopher L. Johnson pastor sexually abused her as a minor, after the church knew or should have known that he had fathered a child with another woman with whom he first had sexual relations when she was a minor.

Cecelia Brown sued Christopher Johnson, Chaun Johnson, Pentecostal Tabernacle Bible Church, New Testament Assemblies of Christ, New Life United Christian Ministries Worldwide Fellowship and Mission of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Cook County Court.

Brown, 19, claims the senior pastor at the four defendant churches, the Rev. Christopher Johnson (Johnson #1), sexually abused her while she was a minor and a parishioner at Pentecostal Tabernacle.

"On information and belief, Johnson #1 fathered a child with a woman other than plaintiff and not his wife with whom he began having sexual contact when she was still a minor and a member of Pentecostal and/or Lutheran, thus establishing a predator pattern of Johnson having committed aggravated criminal sexual abuse with minors," Brown says in the complaint.

"On information and belief, Johnson #2, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Assemblies, and New Life knew or had constructive knowledge of Johnson #1's prior sexual contact with at least one minor since Johnson #1's 2007 divorce from Yvette Johnson was caused in

part or in whole by the public revelation of Johnson #1 having had sexual contact with at least one other minor prior to Cecelia Brown." (Citation to divorce case omitted."

Brown claims the sexual abuse caused her "serious psychiatric and psychological injury including emotional distress injuries which have greatly interfered with her life as an adult."

She claims the assistant pastor at the defendant churches, the Rev. Chaun Johnson, Johnson #2, "allowed Johnson #1 to be left alone with the minor Cecelia Brown unsupervised." In so doing, he "failed to provide a safe environment at Pentecostal and/or Lutheran where members who were minors could be free from aggravated criminal sexual abuse by a pastor," Brown claims.

Brown seeks damages for negligence and emotional distress.

Ahh yes Chicago. Someone I am very familiar with used to work as an agent for the IRS, accompanying feds on certain drug raids and this type of thing, she found it so amazing how some churches will defend their paster no matter what he is accused of or the evidence..... to them it was the "devil" trying to break up their church or an attack on a black man.

To me it has nothing to do with the race of someone breaking immigration laws. It has to do with the fact that the legal immigration system is extremely inefficient, yet instead of fixing that first, the current govt. is in a hurry to get as many registered Democrats on the voter rolls as quickly as possible. Screw the folks that are doing it the legal way. It's taking more than a year for someone to get their spouse to the U.S. the legal route, now they're talking about adding an additional workload to process people that broke the law that will delay the folks that did it the right way. And before someone starts trying to label me as someone whining because I'm waiting on a petition approval, my wife's a citizen now, so I have no skins in the game. It's a slap in the face to folks to that are going about this process in the legal way, in order to shore up the Democrat voting base.

The problem is, the article makes it about race. It even says legal immigration of Hispanics. They're singled out exclusively. And of course black people.

This is why folks here don't have a problem with it, if it was Asians, it would have never seen the light of day here.

Someone posted this here. A piece about destroying diversity on a website that's built on it. Folks saying they agree with this POV married to foreigners. Even in the piece they speak out about legal immigration and trying to prevent it. I guess since no one that frequents this forum is Hispanic, that makes it ok.

So what you are saying is.... anything that can be called "diversity" should be free from critique?

IN other words if the Gov't were to triple the number of immigrants, to question the wisdom of that would be in effect, make one an enemy of "diversity"????

What you are saying is.... that any opinion which believes immigration can at some point be harmful to a nation, is out of bounds here at VJ?

That VJ is not a self help tool but rather an activist organ to maintain or increase the number of immigrants.

Perhaps we need a check-off box's when people join here, something like

-You agree that you will support current levels of immigration and all future increases no matter how high.

-You agree that decreasing the White population by increasing the Minority is the definition of diversity.

-You promise to never ask "how" DIVERSITY is our greatest strength and you accept it as our nation profession of faith.

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe anyone on this website could hold the biases that are contained in the language choices here.

You do realize that the white majority in North America, however tenuous its grip on majority status may be, is the result of institutionalized racism and cultural imperialism? This land was STOLEN from people of colour and the US, especially, was built on the backs of slave labour performed by people of colour.

The implication in your words of white superiority is disgusting. I really hope that English is your second language and you do not realize the implications of some of the phrasing that you use, but I doubt that, somehow. I suspect that it's intentional, to let us all know that you are indeed a white supremacist.

Danno is one of VJs resident racists. Welcome to this forum!

I figured. I really dislike racism very intently. It makes me sad when people reduce another person's contribution because of skin colour or ethnic background. So many horrible things have happened in this world because people seem to lose their ability for empathy when faced with people who aren't a mirror image of themselves. So much violence, so much horror and to what actual gain? The subjugation of people who weren't used to this kind of action, who didn't have the knowledge to see what was coming? I hate it.

Stick around, there's more than one on this forum. They fall into two camps. Danno and those like him, they fancy themselves as intelligent racists. They try to justify why they think the way they do with long winded post that don't break the TOS, but if you read it, it's obvious they hate certain races. They don't have the heart to come out and say what they feel. Then you have the other camp, the ones who get banned every week because they can't hide it, it seeps through their pores, they can't help but let you know that they hate you.

Well, then you're not going to like a few of the posters here. Danno is but one of them.

It's the weekend, he'll get to meet them soon enough.

Another gullible voter.

You can talk sh!t when you've actually got any substance to your conspiracy theory that immigration reform is really about increasing the voting base for the Democratic Party.

Wow! I figured if Danno posted this, they must have been black too.

Nah, you know it's only relevant to Danno if it's black people doing something bad, or gay people doing something bad.
