September! Noooooooooooo!

The only good thing about a September date (for me, any way) is that the flight will be cheaper -- maybe.

Should be. We could visit NI in September 07 (if we wanted) for about $200 apiece cheaper than July or August.

Yeah -- I've noticed in recent years that the big price break which used to occur just after Labor Day is now happening in October -- grrr!

My fiance's uncle is in a play that I wanted to see, but if we have a late August/early September date, we'll miss it. :/

Called the DoS again -- they still don't have any record of receiving the checklist we sent 6/20. Hmmmm.

Called DOS today and they said packet 4 was sent yesterday, interview date Sept.4 at 9:30am. We were hoping to catch August but oh well, i'm just happy it's been scheduled

September - Well...congrats on getting a date.

True, true. Sigh.

Now that you mention that - AA told me that peak season officially ends Oct 15. But I'm sure that Sept is still a little cheaper than the August dates anyways.

Is this solely a UK thread or may I join?

Marlon did live in the UK for over 6 years, does that count?

Of COURSE FM!!

Just want to say I am hoping those of you waiting will hear something soon. I remember what it was like to be frustrated with the wait - I just had to keep telling myself our case was processing normally. With the help of my friends to remind me of that, we made it through.

Maybe they are counting that a lot of their workers will be on holiday in august and they have slowed down the volume of appointments so they are no overwhelmed.

So I called DOS. Dan mailed out P3 priority (or whatever it's called there). It was signed for yesterday. Apparently our P3 was mailed out on June 20....TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!! I had called NVC on the 12th to change his address before it got to the embassy. But noooo. I'm just thankful that we sent the information early - otherwise we'd be behind a couple MORE weeks. We had to use secret password to email them to change the address - DOS nor the info line have the capability to do it. Anyways - hope that it's done now... They are resending P3 (just for a souvenir, I guess), and now it's just wait wait wait for a date.

I always worried with the whole change of address thing. I work with data systems and know these things don't always talk to each. Just because you change the address in one place, doesn't mean it will change everywhere. We are in the process of selling our house in the UK so I had Conrad put down his mum's address from the beginning, incase we ended up selling it before we finished the whole process.

Hurray, we're just about to join the waiting for packet 4 group. I've just booked my medical (July 30th) and i'm ready to send off my packet 3 forms, but i'm going to send them by special delivery tomorrow rather than today, as there will be no one home at US embassy tomorrow to sign for mail - they'll all be off celebrating independence day.

24 days since they received our petition in London. Eleven days since they signed for our Packet 3.

Nothing.

Still haven't even technically rec'd P3! They screwed up the address and sent it to the house that's already sold. Thank goodness for advise to send it anyway before getting it. Otherwise we'd be even further in this hole. They still haven't even entered P3 in the system yet. Are we still at CSC?

To hell with it all. I'm flying to London Thursday to see my honey.

Tiffany -- have a wonderful time in London (bring an umbrella -- it's been raining here every day for three weeks  ). Try to relax with Dan and put all this cr*p to one side. This bit -- waiting for the date -- is frankly the worst of all the waiting. It's the last piece in the puzzle in some ways; once you have the date all the rest of the pieces (deciding on dates to fly out, resign your job, etc) start to fall into place.

You are very, very close indeed and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the P4 showed up while you're over here! ;)
